  • I recievied a call from this company today saying I had a guaranteed £7000 and that could rise to £15k if they include my mortgage. I did have my doubts and havent agreed anything yet as I decided to research into it 1st. I've seen several good reports from people who went with them and where successful but not really any from people who have said they got nothing.
I did get especially suspicious though when he knew I had had a loan with 2 different banks and my address but didnt know my name??
I was thinking of doing it myself but wouldnt know where to start or what loans/mortgages and with which companies I've had them all with in the last 6 years, so was considering going with them but 30% fee is quite steep.

Mortgage PPI is only considered a mis-sale if its single premium or not eligible. Monthly by direct debit (which is how the vast majority are set up) is considered fine. So, any claims company indicating a refund on a monthly MPPI is being disingenuous.

Be wary of internet posters on forums saying they have had success. If they are a one post wonder then you need to be on guard that they are not self promoting the company. We have seen it on here frequently over the last few years where someone says they have had a success. In some cases in an entirely unrealistic timescale (i.e. endowment complaint from the 90s being upheld, settled and money in the account within 2 weeks of the initial complaint).

In fear of you calling me a self-promoter of the company I actually have had success with this company. I recieved just over three thousand back in about five months. They told me how much I would recieve within the twelve week span and I'm happy with the way I was treated. If anyone wants to know more about my experience give me a reply. I've kept a watchful eye on this forum throughout my claim process and promised to write when something had gone wrong, but except for the fact that cold calling bugs the hell out of me, I can't think of anything. Oh, and the initial phone caller had a really strong welsh accent it made it quite difficult to understand her. But I don't think that really counts.
Nice to know you have but it seems that lots have been badly let down by CMC's also. Its a risk you have to take I guess.

Nearly all the claims companies have had successes. There was one that admitted last year that it had received tens of thousands of complaints but had not had one success. However, given how easy it is to make a complaint and get it upheld, you would expect even the dodgy claims companies to still have successes.

  • I am ABSOLUTELY appalled by the phone call I've just received from money claiming expert. They called me to say I could claim over £2K for my credit cards. I said great but that I'd like to look up the details first and then call them back. They literally wouldn't take no for an answer and refused to let me go away and look up the details and then come back to them - to the point where I was passed onto a manager etc...eventually I had to put the phone down because they kept trying to get me to go onto the computer whilst on the phone and were pressurising me to give my card details there and then over the phone so that they can send out a pack and 'save me money'

That is appalling. You can contact the Ministry of Justice to put in a complaint about them. I think the more people that do this the more likely MOJ are to take action.

You could always put down the phone stellarj. If they call again just do as maxdp used to say and blow a whistle down the phone.
  • I was scared to do this the first time and thought it would have been better to get a company to do it, but I plucked up the courage and downloaded a template letter that was put on this site, changed the bits that I needed to change on the template and sent it off expecting nothing coming back.

I now have the confidence to do things and sort out problems that need to be sorted out.

Has anyone heard of Money Claiming Expert, they claim to help you reclaim PPI on loans and credit card charges for a fee of £299 no win no fee. They are registered with a ministry of justice number CRM16588 based in Swansea, just wondered if anyone has had any dealings with them. Thankyou

P.S This is my first post not sure if it is in the right place. ;)

I have had and still have some dealings with them....dont do it...total rip of merchants! Just keep asking for mmore money for this that and the other and you end up doing all of the work that has to be done. SHOCKING how they get away with it. And if you ever ask to speak to a manager they never call you back. Been going on for over 6 monthes now and still havent seen a penny. And they still keep asking me to send them more cheques for small amounts for legal costs and so on! Someone really needs to get this lot on Watchdog!
