    And having looked over my past bills, it appears they were doing this on my last contract as well.....here is a bill from around a year ago

    Am I missing something here? It looks as though I am being charged VAT on my entire overall bill. In fact, I can even remember specifically asking whether the £25 monthly charge included VAT in it when I renewed my contract over the phone.

    I am on £25p/m price plan (which for some reason is listed in the first image as £25.53) with two boosters inlcuded worth a total of £5 (however these are included free).

    It looks as though I have been charged VAT on my line rental and outside allowance charges....when in fact VAT should be included in the £25.

    If you plan was £25 per month it would say £21.28 against 'Your monthly plan charges'.

    Your bill indicates you are on a £30 per month plan.

    VAT is chargeable on the price plan and your charges outiside plan.

    I see. I've been informed though that the £25p/m charge includes VAT....I'm going to have to follow this up which I'm not looking forward to as my previous encounter with Tmobile customer services was awful.

    You began by referring to tariffs quoted on their website; the only one which matters is the one you agreed to on your current contract at that time (and most people would know exactly what that was because they signed up to it). VAT is always included in personal tariffs and always added on to the net total. You have £1.55 which is at 0% rate - maybe a paper bill fee. Whatever you signed up to originally is what matters; working out the VAT in relation to current tariffs shown on the website is misleading. It could have been a retention deal or the tariff may have changed or be slightly different to the one you actually have. Whatever was quoted to you as the basic line rental etc. would have included VAT but it would be shown separately on any bill - that is how VAT works.

    The VAT is for your call charges as well, all your "outside costs" are calling plan show pre-VAT, they then add it together and put on the VAT.

    Although those are odd numbers, how strange they don't break it down futher.

    I can only presume you make some roaming calls or something because they're normally exempt from VAT hence the 0% VAT? Otherwise I don't have a clue.

    Hi. It was a retentions deal, you are right.

    I wanted the phone and quoted a tariff on the website, and I did ask whether that included VAT (I'm fairly sure I did this) and was told yes. I am guessing there is no way to verify this?

    Looks to me like your on the £25 per month but have gone over on data or something and then incurred extra VAT on this?

    There is no chance I have gone over data.....barely use it and it's a 3gb limit.
