T-Mobile VAT charges....

Hello all.

As far as I'm aware, the quoted prices on T-Mobile's website for their tariffs include VAT. So a £25p/m contract includes the VAT and stays at that amount.

I am getting charged VAT on top of the £25, bringing my bill closer to £30.....is this the case for anyone else? Am I wrong about VAT being included in price?

Many thanks.

I'm on a £15pm 30 day contract and my bills states:

    Outstanding balance £0.00
    Your monthly plan charges £12.77
New charges this month outside plan £0.00
    Your new balance
    £12.77
    VAT charged at 17.5% on £12.77 £2.23
    Amount due £15.00

It's a normal account, not a business one.....seems I am being ripped off....

I also took insurance from them when I did the contract but there is no mention of that on my account, I haven't been charged for it as far as I'm aware and I've had no letters from them about it....

    Is it the first month?

You can get a higher bill in month one as it can be longer than a single month as they sync you to the billing cycle ?

Pretty sure it is month two now, however the standard tariff charge is listed as 50p more than what it costs.....very strange.

I am going to email them I think to clear it up, just wanted to know if anyone else had VAT problems.

    Thanks all....

Is your mobile a Blackberry by any chance?

Oh, that beggers up that theory then!.

I had a blackberry a while back and as these are targetted at business users rather than joe soap, I noticed that a lot of the price packages were plus VAT rather than Including VAT as plus VAT is how business sell to other businesses.

But if it's a Desire, then looks like a bit of sneaky pricing from TMobile.

On their site it cleary states

"All prices on this page include 17.5% VAT"

Its most likely just an error rather than "sneaky pricing" all my contracts with them are charged at the correct rate.
