I've used my 'spare' time at work to write a letter to my bank demanding some unfair charges back. And tonight I'm sorting out my taxback so hopefully some money there. Printed off the bank letter on the work printer, used a work envelope and it was freepost

Read all the newspapers at work so didn't have to buy them, also the tea and coffee at work is free.

But I did buy a can of coke so could do better!

Hi KittyKate - do you think you can pop down (in bold) what you estimate you saved? This will make it easier for me to tally up later today. :T

    Happy saving everyone!!

Hi Dirtyepic - can you give a rough estimate of what you have saved and put it on here in bold? That will make it easier for me to tally up later on today or tomorrow & present final total for August :T

I have a tree in my garden that i want taking down, and a bloke from work used to be a tree surgeon, so by the looks of it will get advice/tools/expertise from him, yay!

Getting a tree surgeon in would have cost me ££££!

Tsharp - can you give a rough estimate of what you saved?

Hi Cupid - what did you save £320 on???? Can I join :rotfl:

My bus pass needed renewing (as did hubbys so the saving is a joint one between us)

Our student bus passes are £480 a year (so £960 between us!). And I found out yesterday that if we get a yearly train pass between our local station and work it's only £320 each (so £640 for us both)

    Making a saving of £320!

thanks i am so pleased with myself. I still can't believe the trian is soooo much cheaper
I asked my husband (90% jokingly) if i can have some £85 shoes as a reward for my excellent money saving. He said my reward can be that we don't end up in the poor house!

:T He he - well I guess no harm in asking him! But he's prob right, although a liiiiiitle sarky with it ;)

Hopefully he is making as many investigations into money saving as you are :D

I saved £42 by last week booking Megabus for me & some friends to go to London - paid £6 instead of £48!!!!! As I paid for it in August I will add it now to the August tally.

Hi all - just a reminder to use up your 10% off vouchers at Superdrug today as it's the last day!

Think: toothbrushes, toothpaste, nappy wipes, loo roll, make up, shampoo, conditioner etc...

I will go at lunch to get some black eyeliner, new lipstick and maybe (more!) toothpaste on Buy1Get1Free... things I needed anyway :T
