Bump for ARik... I've just copied my earlier post, in case you dont look.. :)
All done thank you so so mych ARik,. just the SUPERantispyware thing now. Also when I turn on pc BT Broadband info comes up and its annoying. Oh and where do I get RAM from.

Right tomorrow... (yes tell me to eff off if you want), but there is a bigger problem with the laptop. I will start a new thread if you want. But I have been told its a processor problem. It sounds like the fan is working like mad and then it just turns itself off if I try do things like youtube. When the virus scan comes on, it works for about 2 mins and turns itself off too, so I dont think malware scans will complete.

Id suggest starting another post for RAM as we need to determine what RAm you need and then somone will probably point you in the direction of the cheapest (They can vary in price hughly)

    as for now ~

    Please run COMBOFIX
    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
(If no log comes up or you lose it, COMBOFIX.TXT can be found in C drive)

What's your commit charge, after a reboot before running anything?

I'd uninstall zonealarm, turn on windows firewall, uninstall avg8! and superantispyware for starters, then install avast, and reboot, then follow the link above.

XP will run in 224MB if you trim the fat.

after a clean reboot, before running anything?

If you want it to run fast, uninstall SAS, you can use the manual scanner if you still want it, but having running all the time is using ram and processor cycles up. Currently your commit charge is twice as much as your ram, which is why it's slow.

Avast is a bit lighter than avira, but stick with avira for now, and work on the rest.

Yes I only have this website up and running and the notepad with the log file from the combofix running. I will uninstall the superanti for now, and when /I get some more RAM I can maybe put it back then?

You don't need more ram if you trim the startup apps to get commit charge below or near to 224MB, my commit charge is currently 128MB, yours is 463 (ie more than your installed ram)

Measure the commit charge before loading a browser, multiple tabs and browser addins use memory.
