Well all of them are toolbar related, as are yahoo and msn so again ~ attempt to UNINSTALL them all first. But sure, if they wont go then FIX them after attempting to uninstall

Yahoo messenger you can go into the program itself to prevent it from starting with windows

All done thank you so so mych ARik,. just the SUPERantispyware thing now. Also when I turn on pc BT Broadband info comes up and its annoying. Oh and where do I get RAM from.

Right tomorrow... (yes tell me to eff off if you want), but there is a bigger problem with the laptop. I will start a new thread if you want. But I have been told its a processor problem. It sounds like the fan is working like mad and then it just turns itself off if I try do things like youtube. When the virus scan comes on, it works for about 2 mins and turns itself off too, so I dont think malware scans will complete.

As advised by RIK scan for nasties first and then once clear check Windows updates again, download the latest critical updates including IE8.

Also try the scanner on Secunia for latest updates/patches for Java, Adobe (if you use it) flashplayer etc.

Thanks fiddiwebb, I have done the above and I think I need Java. Do I do the version for 32 bit or 64?

32 bit version is the one you require I would think but double check first, here's how under Windows XP.
