I like the look of everything I see so far, only question I have is are you charged for the amount of electricity you have used in the previous 2 months? I fell out with NIE over their monthly DD amounts and moved to quarterly direct debit where I only pay for what I have used, not some random amount every month
From what I read on their website (please correct me if I have got any part wrong) you sign up for ebills and DD to get the cheapest price which is currently discounted heavily until Sept 2011. You get an email every 2 months to upload your meter reading, they produce an ebill, and then the previous 2 months electrickery is taken by DD on an agreed date.
Does that sound about right for anyone who has already switched?

I think it's too early for anyone who has made the switch to know how things will work out in practice. I know I contacted them to change over on the 1st June which was the first day possible and have just this week received the letter from them giving me my account number and telling me how to log into my account on their website.
I haven't had the letter from NIE regarding my final bill but I was in credit with them anyway so maybe they'll be slower to process a refund than send a bill.0 -
If we're moving house, is it possible to get supply from Airtricity immediately, or do we have to sign up with NIE first and then transfer over?0

Got my final bill from NIE this morning and they owe me over £90. :T:T:T
Strangely it's going to take them up to 20 [working] days to credit it to my bank account. I bet they still wonder why I've switched. [Roll Eyes]0 -
£4 a month = £48 over a year, so £50 extra in your pocket at say Christmas or summer holidays, not much good? :-)
I know what you're saying but for the value of paying 92p per week more, the NIE tarriff is better in practice for me. I somehow dont think I would be religously putting the money away every week to save it anyway.:beer:0 -
Sorry for reviving an old thread again, but now that a few more weeks have passed I was wondering if anyone else would like to share their experience of switching to Airtricity?
I am tempted, their website claims they might be able to save me around £8 a month, which is not to be sneezed at, but if the switching part is a nightmare, then its not so tempting.....0 -
Also, can you just join them straight up, rather than switching?
I've e-mailed them but got no reply.0
