Just a bunch of scam martin and MCD are running, I bet this thread will get deleted once they are exposed.
Any minute MODs now, any minute.........0 -
I would put more trust in Dell boy than this company0

I honestly don't think its anything to do with MSE, it was a good deal that went wrong unbeknown to them.
But i do think mycitydeal have some responsibility to keep retailers prices as initially advertised or else its just false advertising and getting on many peoples wick's!0 -

If you feel its a joint scam with MCD and Martin, why are you still on the thread???
On the one occasion that Martin has promoted a MCD deal, and it went wrong, he personally got involved and resolved the issue.
Surely you cant blame him for any deal that may be posted either on MCD or by a user on here, independant of his, or his teams knowledge.
If every deal were to be run through the team before posting, we certainly wouldnt end up with the short term glitches etc that we all know and love.
I would imagine the thread would have more chance of being closed down through deflammatory commets such as yours, rather than any cloak and dagger tactics0 -
Hi all,
Just wanted to clarify that we absolutely do not condone this and are just waiting for a statement from My City Deals about what it'll do to put this right, even though this is not a deal we have looked into before.
Thanks

Here's a response from My City Deals:
We are extremely disappointed to face this issue this morning. We hope that you understand that we picked up matters with the watchesshop.com immediately this morning. They have since returned any inflated prices to their previous levels and we are due to discuss matters further within the next 15 minutes. We will continue to monitor prices for the rest of the promotion and ensure that they remain constant.
We take this matter very seriously and are doing everything within our power to ensure that our customers are provided with the correct level of service and best offers available. We are still a young company and learning constantly. We work incredibly hard to obtain the best deals available for our customers, and can not iterate how upsetting it is when things do not go according to plan.
I hope that our customers will accept my apologies for any disappointment caused and be aware that we are working very hard to solve this issue and ensure that these kind of events are not repeated.
Kind regards.
Christopher

But this is the third retailer to do this in the last week (and that is only the ones posted about on here). It is begining to look like a common theme0 -

Yes, there has been the skincare/glasses. However, aside from that things are not always the deal they seem. Often they get you to go through a different link with different prices(vivagogo)or constantly have items for sale at an offer price and postage rate, which are then put not 'normal price' and higher postage before the deal goes live(canvas's) or simply that the 'spa treatment' is a fabricated price when you go to the companies website and look at better spa treatments and the prices are cheaper!
I think unless you are buying simple coffee/wagmama/cinema etc vouchers, this company are best avoided. How on earth can this happen after the last offer? They should have it in their contract re price increases and before starting any new contracts, they should have ensured any agreed to run soon were clarified with the businesses concerned. I can not believe they have allowed another mess to occur. I SERIOUSLY believe that their sales patter promotes separate links being used/timed starts as then businesses can adjust prices and not lose out!0
