Got New Car But Don't Like It!!!

I think what harveybobbles does is ok, there are not many dealers around who will give you the opportunity to bring the car back just because you don't like it, and how many nearly new 'ex management' cars are available to buy at dealers when, in truth, they are ex hire cars with umpteen numbers of drivers. I used to work for a car hire company and when the cars were sold on, they all had one lady owner from new,
the owners wife.

For £700 most dealers will take the car back, the op proves that, so Harveys probably not your best mate.0 -

"oh the reason they have had the car for 7 weeks is that its a piece if rubbish and a hateful thing to drive..."

The O/P didnt say they took it back to the supplying dealer, merely that the car ended up back there. And rest assured, they bought it back for a lot less than £700 less than they sold it for.0 -
My last car I got the V5 the day I picked the car up from the dealers.
Mind you, some garages take the pish with it.I traded a car in once, ohh 1989ish,.Drove over from Germany where I was based, dropped off my old car & picked up my new 309 GTI & went back to germany.
Six weeks/couple month's later I got summoned to the Pay & Discipline Office as they'd recieved a parking ticket for my old car.Thankfully I was able to prove I was back in Germany when the ticket was issued & passed it back to the Pugeot dealer.
(As a by,the managing director of the dealership got a stern call from the Senior Sales Manager for Peugeot UK,who was a close friend of my late father's,who was the Senior Parts Manager for Peugeot!:T)
I traded in my old Volvo for a year old Ka in 1999 and about three months later I received a speeding fine for the Volvo.
I sent the ticket to the (Ford main) delaer where I bought the car and let them deal with it."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Just like to point out that this is bad advice for 2010. Section 172 requires you as the recipient of the S172 notice to deal with it and failure to do so can lead to a penalty of up to 6 points and a £1000 fine.
The correct course of action is to tick the "I sold the car on ../../.." box, fill in the date and the dealership's address and send it back to the camera partnership. Then go chase up the DVLA to find out why you are still listed as the keeper.
If the dealership actually respond to the ticket you forwarded onto them, then the camera partnership get their pound of flesh and all is sorted, but if not the partnership (and later, the courts) will be hounding you about it.
OTOH, if someone you don't like (e.g. your former boss) hands you a speeding ticket to deal with that's addressed to them, you can quite safely ignore it as it clearly states that it must not be passed on to the driver to complete, so assume you are being given a copy for reference. The worst that can happen is that eventually the boss gets forced to nominate you as the driver anyway and you are liable for the original Conditional Offer of 3 points and a £60 fine.0
