Basically, decided the Swift wasn't as good as the Megane so managed to get a deal on the Megane trading in the Swift, made a loss of about £700 but that's life! Much happier with that car.
The strange thing is the Swift ended up back at the dealership I bought it from. The thing that is now annoying me is that despite me being the owner of the car for 6 days, the V5 document never reached me. I am now wondering if they are selling that car on as if my timne with the car didn't exist. Surely that's illegal?
My last car I got the V5 the day I picked the car up from the dealers.
Mind you, some garages take the pish with it.I traded a car in once, ohh 1989ish,.Drove over from Germany where I was based, dropped off my old car & picked up my new 309 GTI & went back to germany.
Six weeks/couple month's later I got summoned to the Pay & Discipline Office as they'd recieved a parking ticket for my old car.Thankfully I was able to prove I was back in Germany when the ticket was issued & passed it back to the Pugeot dealer.
(As a by,the managing director of the dealership got a stern call from the Senior Sales Manager for Peugeot UK,who was a close friend of my late father's,who was the Senior Parts Manager for Peugeot!:T)0 -

To be honest I am not bothered either way, more concerned that whoever buys the car from this dealer may be misled about it's status.0 -

Why should you be, the OP merely bought the wrong car for her, not a faulty one.
I do realise that you are saying it may have had I more owner than the V5 states but no one only the garage will ever know that.. And even if it does, I can't see an issue.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
We only send the V5's off after about 3-4 weeks just incase the customer doesnt like the car. That way we can sell the car on as a 1 owner car and not have to !!!! about waiting for documents to go to the customer and then back to us.
Nothing illigal about it.0 -

You missed again out there.
"That way we can sell the car again as a 1 owner car "
So you don't count the first punter you sold it to as it doesn't count for the first few weeks if you a used car salesman?
Nothing illegal if it's had more owners than the V5 states?0 -
It's called a cooling off perioud. Plus it will make it harder to sell on again if the current reg'd keeper is showing as had the car fdor 6 days.0

Nothing personal Harvey but what a one sided post. (fingers down throat emoticon needed)
I can just imagine the punter taking the car back to you saying;
Well, I've only had it a few days, you won't have done the paperwork, can I please have my money back, you won't lose anything.
Hah hah hah, to you it would have an additional owner, even tho' by your method it wouldn't, 1 more strike up to the motor trade.:T:T:TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
