what advert says ,not just clean but hygienically clean ? whats that all about ?
And why would you wash your hands before going into a toilet ?
Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Those adverts drive me mad. I am sure I once read a study which said children who lived on farms tended to have the most robust immune systems because of all those lovely germs!
I remember one advert which showed a mother spraying the table on her child's high chair whilst the poor little sod was sitting in it. So, apparantly a few germs were going to kill him, but a lungful of spray antiseptic is perfectly okay!0 -
ha this is so true the world is going mad with cleanliness
yes in a hospital thats great since most people in them already have a illness which their bodies will be fighting but most other places it is silly
i cant wait till they start pushing the infrared sensor operated taps for your home due to germs - which would make sense from one point of view since you go to the toilet, turn the tap on so putting germs on it, wash your hands, and then turn the tap off again by touching the bit you have just touched with your 'dirty' hands.
but i agree with the above, my mum never lets me forget the time when she left me out playing in the garden when she had to pop inside to get something, ocming back out again a few seconds later to find me eating a wormand i still do not get ill very often.
so i say 'let them eat worms' to build a good immune system, just a shame my little one is a bit of a wuss, she gets really upset if she gets dirty, although that might just be because its a excuse to get a cuddle and a kiss
I think not - in fact best to wash hands after any sort of mud eating or you may end up with a different type of worm!

I'm with you, too xmas.
I wouldn't buy a touch free soap dispenser. I have a little pump handwash thingy in the bathroom and at the kitchen sink, and wet wipes in my bag (for when the children get really mucky in public!) and that's all we'll ever needMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

So you don't get germs in your foof? :rotfl:
Hand washing is important, but there is such a thing as going too far.
Though I did have to laugh at the woman in the loos at tesco, alcohol gel attatched to her bag, she comes out the loo, wets her hands, rubs soap in the palms of her hands quickly, and a quick rinse. Then she coats her hands in gel. See if she washed her hands properly then her hands wouldn't be red raw from the gel! Duh!
Anyone else do the towel test? 'wash your hands in the sink, not on the towel!' :rotfl:0 -
Towel test?
Don't know about you, but our tesco has just put in a super turbo hand-dryer that sounds like a jumbo jet taking off and is so powerful you can actually see it making waves in your skin
On the plus side, when someone else has just finished and starts the dryer you can let rip without feeling self conscious, there's no chance of anyone hearing you:o:o

Totaly with you on this one.
HAs anyone yet sussed that "germs" are bacteria and viruses. Without the protection of a lot of bacteria, we would be really sick and unwell pretty much all the time. And some viral infections make us more susceptable to other health problems (HPV for instance) but infection and subsequent immunity to others seem to provide a degree of immunity to additional health problems. On a larger scale tapeworm provides resistance to masses of life threatening gut diseases, on a smaller scale it has been suggested that the immune reaction to small pox (vaccine) and glandular fever provides protection against HIV and leukemia respectively. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Yeah, towel test. Your mum would send you to wash your hands and you had to bring the (white) towel down with you and if there was dirt on the towel, you got a smack for not washing your hands properly! Fair taught me how to wash my mits!0

The place I'd be most worried about germs would be in a hospital. I'd definitely take lots of anti bacterial stuff with me if I was unlucky enough to have to stay in one." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Wow, you must have had really dirty hands to start with :rotfl::o
I might try that on my lot, who are terrible with handwashing. Quote
me(having not heard the taps when DD3 in bathroom): Did you wash your hands?
dd3: I don't need to, I didn't wipe my bum :eek::eek::eek::eek:
