Yes squares is the way to go! Never been so excited to start on a cake, have run it over in my head so many times!0

Nikki - Regalice (sold almost everywhere - hobbycraft, online, local garden centre!) sell the roll out icing in chocolate flavour.... go onto the hobbycraft website and search 'regalice' to get an idea of colour.
!
Thanks, thats exactly what im looking for, only problem is that the birthday is on Monday and I cant get to Hobbycraft before then. Ive checked my local big supermarkets and they only seem to sell the white stuff. There isn't anyway I can mix something into this is there?
The rockyroad cupcakes will just be chocolate cupcakes with choccie buttercream and malteasers, marshmallows etc on top. Then topped with caramel sauce. Sounds yummy but in reality it may end up in a total mess!0 -
Hi, does anyone have a vanilla frosting recipe that i could use please?

Hi all,
I do read regularly and have posted a cake from time to time and got some fab ideas from you all so thank you!
Today I made a mermaid cake. It's just a practice run for a friend's little girl's birthday next month cos I did my usual trick of letting my mouth run away with me and offered to do it before remembering I've actually never used icing on a cake before, just chocolate!
Anyway, here it is. Her mum seems to like it. The star is where I'll put the little girl's name and age and the doll will actually be Ariel for the real thing.New Year, New Me!!!Weight loss mission 2012 has officially begun!!:jLoss so far: 3 stone 4lbs:j0 -

Hi, I'm making my daughters birthday cake, its going to be a dinosaur isand, so two sheets of sponge done in a swiss roll tin, sandwiched together, carved into an island shape, then covered in butter cream.
Firstly, does that sound like a good plan, and secondly, how long before can I make the cake and decorate it? The party is sunday afternoon, but could I make the cake on thurs and ice it on friday, maybe make and ice it fri morning? We've got visitors fri afternoon, and more on sat so wont have much time then. Will the cake be too dry?0 -
Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew the answer or has done the same. Iv been making some cupcakes this evening topped with readyroll icing that I had coloured myself. As I had a little of each colour left I thought I would cut out some small shapes, hearts, stars flowers etc to keep for next time. However I dont know how long I can keep them for, or how I should store them. I guess they are going to harden and I have wrapped the initial pack of white readyroll in clingfilm for future use but am a little unsure of how to keep my shapes:-/0
