    Hi Moosetastic
Could I just ask where did you get your cupcake cases from all I can find are little fairy cake cases or the silicone muffin ones.
    TIA

awesome 2, they are from Asda, they are muffin cases - 57p for 75 cases. They come in a mixture of white and brown in the same pack. They make a really decent size cupcake!

Thanks odollybird for that, I'll go back and make a note :o

    Hi
I have just got my giant cupcake mould and wondered if anyone could help regarding the icing. I have no idea what to use to ice it. Can someone give me a clue what they have used.

    Hi LoLo

Welcome to the thread. It is best to use a frosting for the icing but you could use whatever you want really. Here is a recipe Stardrops sent me you just need to adjust the quantites

This is a recipe I got from an American site so I'm afraid it's in "cups" but you can easily convert the measurements online if you don't have cups:D It makes quite alot so I sometimes half it but it does keep for upto a week in a plastic carton unrefridgerated;)
    • 1-1/3 cups Trex (white box in the butter section)
1/3 to 1/2 cup milk, depending on consistency needed
      3 Tbsp Powdered Dream topping
2-3 Tbsp vanilla extract, depending on your personal taste
      2 lbs icing sugar
    Instructions
    1. There’s no wrong way to mix this. I usually mix all but the icing sugar for a minute or two, then gradually add the icing sugar(sieved), The longer the mixer runs, the smoother it gets. I sometimes add a bit more milk depending on the consistency I want. You can add any flavouring you want to this for instance, orange extract added with a chocolate cupcake is gorgeous!!
    Hope this helps

Hi, I just found this thread earlier tonight and have spent the last couple of hours reading each thread and looking at all your photos.

You are all so talented. Your cakes are absolutely fantastic.

I've made a couple of cakes over the past couple of years - nothing very fancy buy my husband's friend asked me if I would make a cake for his partner's 40th birthday. I agreed to do it before he told me he'd like it in the shape of her car!!! She is a mini-cab driver and he'd love it to look like her taxi, complete with taxi poster in the back window and aerial on the back. Argh!!! What had I let myself in for.

I told him I would have a go but couldn't guarantee what it would turn out like. He sent me some photographs and this is what I managed to do.

If you look at it from a distance and ignore the lumpy, bumpy icing it doesn't look too bad (I think!!!). He was delighted with it so that was what mattered.

    Hopefully this will work!!

Also i have about 6 bags of chocolate chips, anyone know what i can do with them? Not cookies though, im rubbish at biscuits :o

    Hi Evansangel,

Have you used your chocolate chips yet? If not, have you tried making mouldable chocolate?

My friend told me how to make it before I attempted my car, I used it for the car windows and it tastes fantastic.

Melt 300g of chocolate and mix with 100ml of golden syrup and leave to cool/set.

I was told it can be used instead of ready to roll icing, but it doesn't crack so gives a smoother finish.

You sprinkle cocoa powder so it doesn't stick but as I was using white chocolate I didn't think that would work so rolled mine between two shees of greaseproof paper.
