    Hi Ladies,

I have to make a cake for my SIL's 30th birthday on friday. Did someone say you can get ready made icing/buttercream from morrisons in different flavours or was that just me?

    Many Thanks

simple way is to just cost the ingredients and do 75% mark-up

you could try and work out how much electricity you used and charge an hourly rate for your time, but thats alot of maths lol

HI Steph. I wouldn't recommend the RTU buttercream as I recently tried it and had the scrape it all off and make my own. Its very artifical and tart tasting. Didn't like at all but that's my opinion. Hth

Just put of interest, what mixers do you all use? Hand held, stand etc?
I've been using a cheapo hand held for years, and would *love* a nice red KitchenAid to sit on my worktop, but sadly, I do not have £500 going spare :p
I've just ordered an in-between. It's a Breville hand mixer, but it's a bit bigger and more powerful, and comes with a stand. It should be here tomorrow, so I hope it's ok :)

i used a hand mixer for years and years.......but they constantly burnt out with the amount of making i did, and i used to get through one almost every month!

so we saved and saved and saved i was FINALLY able to afford a kitchenaid....a lovely gunmetal grey one, and he is called Alfie :)

THEN i won the Fern show, and they presented me with a shiny new KitchenAid in cream!! so she is called Betty, and she is still in her box since i won LOL
