and the wire you are looking for is florists wire, comes in different thicknesses and colours!
if its a large topper of wires you can get a flower pick/cake pick. its like a thin little tube with a point on the bottom, you put your wires in that (can secure with icing or putty etc. and you push the pointed end into your cake
I have a giveaway at the moment on my cake page. once i hit 1,500 likers im giving away a box of cupcakes!:

hiya zippy,
Just use your usual cake mix, but substitute a few spoonfuls of flour for cocoa. Spoon your mixture into the cases, push a slice of marsbar in the centre and cover the top with a little bit more mixture...bake as normal!!
you can do it with other chocolate bars too (and after eights!)! happy experimenting:dance:

Can I ask what most of you use to make figures etc, do you add anything to your fondant icing to make it firmer. Also do you use the edible glue. I did a little 2 hour class learning how to make a figure. We just used fondant icing and water to stick pieces but I found that was still really soft and took days to try is this normal.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. i used to just use fondant (still do alot of the time) but just lately ive started adding a little gum trag/tylo powder depending on the item im making. you can make your own edible glue by mixing gum trag with water, giving it a good shake n leave it over night.
hope that helps x:dance:
