Hi guys i am back again for advice (was last here when making my DD's 4th birthday cake, pics no.713.) i want to make a cake for my DS this time for his 2nd birthday and here is the hard part he is having a Mr Tumble theme party and i can't find anywhere that sells a cake topper? I've looked on Ebay and nothing. Has anyone made a Mr Tumble cake? Or maybe advise me on how to make the model? For anyone whos not sure who Mr Tumble is, he is a Cbeebies children character on programmes such as 'Something Special'. Here are some pics i've found but it seems so hard... http://www.google.co.uk/images?client=safari&rls=en&q=mr+tumble+cake+pic&oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&sa=X&ei=8w2BTfSNEJGEhQerjNGiBw&ved=0CC8QsAQ&biw=1280&bih=680 Any advise or tips please! :)

Candy melts are best for making cake pops - it melts to the right consistency and is workable for longer than regular chocolate.... plus it doesn't melt when you handle the pops like chocolate does. Also you get get a wide variety of colours and flavours.

I use the info on Bakerella, same as Esmer recommended, it's a great site, with loads of fabby ideas for decorating :)

Hobbycraft sell them for £2.99 a bag both in store, and online.

Hey Wammy! Thats a not bad price now for the candy melts. It was the one thing that put me off cake pops. I have made them before but normal chcoolate does not go that far............

Saw it in BHS but resisted at full price.... hoever, when it was half price down to £7.50 in the sale I HAD to have it!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the cake stand too :)

I ordered a pack with several items as it was better value: http://www.mumswhobake.co.uk/shop/product.php?id_product=284

but they do sell them individually too.
    HTH :)

I just got this in TKMAXX so check there first, I just stumbled across it and it was 8.99, might be worth checking they have one and save yourself a few pounds.

Filling the cupcakes with nutella was far easier than I though it would be, took a few minutes to do the whole batch!! Looked rather impressive when they were cut in halt to reveal the chocolate centres :)

    They were yummy!

    Thanks

ive gone very simple this year, as i dont have much time - bought some chocolate teacakes, and then dipped them in red chocolate (splashed out on candymelts)

then drew on the design from this years 'noses' with writing icing tubes, and made pirate hats and patches from black sugarpaste
