What is a Housing Association?

We always hear of when people have problems on forums. No-one just writes in to say a "BTW - things are fine" thread.
Employees, as you say, should be posting on threads of forums so no need to employ a whole team for that reason. They should spend their time sorting out the problems of those 6000 tennant, which would be a minority and works would be allocated anyway, ie, plumber, electricians etc
Anti social behaviour, I'm glad, is now taken more seriously and takes up more of their time. ie not dealing simply with a leaking tap, which can be allocated on. But they are at least liaising more with the police and Env Health as opposed to just leaving these problems up to these other authorities.
I was using the posting on message boards as an axample of how a simple task becomes a huge issue when multiplied by 6000, I didn't mean that HA staff should spend their working lives trolling message boards.
ASB is being taken more seriously, which is a good thing. But the old dripping taps still need to be dealt with as well. But, unlike dripping taps, ASB is a community lead issue. You mentioned Fiona Pilkington earlier, a terrible case from which I do hope lessons are learnt. But, where was the community? No mention in the coroners report, the PCC enquiry, the council investigation etc etc.0 -

But surely little Tommy's dad ain't about ?."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

There was clearly neglect from the HA to deal with her problems throughout many years. This is Well recorded. The Chief Police said at the time they would not be held fully responsible as numerous complaints had been made to the Housing officer and it was within the HA remit to resolve these problems a lot sooner.
I have some empathy here with the police. They have powers but the landlord had powers being they didn't enforce simple tenancy agreement with those families that hounded this poor woman to take the choice to kill herself and her daughter in the most horrific manner possible. Lessons won't be learnt if people like you continue to back up the arguements put forward so far.
Of course, you are assuming that those responsible were tenants of the same HA. As for the Police, the IPCC are investigating 10 officers, with ranks as high as Inspector, for their failings. Despite Ms Pilkington making 33 calls, she was visited only 8 times regarding the ASB she was suffering.
I don't think anyone comes out of the Fiona Pilkington case smelling of roses, and I again include the wider community in that statement.
But, Fiona Pilkington is an extreme example to base an argument on.0 -

Ah this is true!
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt
I thought he might have stuck around for a little while at least. Especially after the hassle of getting the DNA result from Jezza Kyle

Perhaps you could explain on what you base that statement?0 -

I take your point, but a word in little Tommy's mums ear would be just as effective. A couple of the neighbours voicing the same complaint, and little Tommys feet don't touch the ground! As a result, little Tommy soon learns that whatever he does gets back to his mum/dad and his behaviour is self modified for fear of the consequencies. Mum and/or dad are happy because no-ones complaining and it's been nipped in the bud before it got seious enough for the Police to come knocking, the neighbours are happy because Tommy stops whatever Tommy was doing, and Tommy's happy because his mum and/or dad aren't chastising him. Win, win, win.0
