In Asda today they have the Billingtons Fairtrade natural Golden Granulated sugar
50p 1kg.
I know this is OK for baking and in coffee, although dont normally buy it as its expensive but I wondering what it will be like in Tea, anyone tried it.
The reason I ask is that I am not a tea drinker myself and would probably find it Ok
but my dear Tea fanatic Old Mum may not find it acceptable.

Isn't sugar just sugar?0

Thanks Meg :-)
Golden granulated is sugar before the last refining step to make it white - it tastes practically the same as white granulated sugar.0 -
I bought a couple of packs a few weeks ago, and you can't taste a difference.Only dead fish go with the flow...0

Sugar is not just sugar - Natural cane sugar has larger grain to it , comes that way straight from the sugar mill , On a health point it is sweeter so you do not need use so much- how much you want your tea ? 1/2 a teaspoon or 6 teaspoons , It has not been mucked about with like Refined white sugar to make it, We only use small amount in month from the monthly shop - 1kilo - So price is not an issue -0

I use this and it's been the cheapest powder around even at 'normal' prices. Hope this doesn't mean it's being discontinued or packaged in even smaller boxes! I'll try my local store.0

Saw the other thread about stella in tesco, I personally don't like the 330ml cans, they do do them they are like coke cans but I seem to drink more and also faster.
Anyway in ASDA recently they've had packs of 20 cans of various lagers Stella, Fosters, Carling at £12 each, just been having a look online and found that they have reduced the Stella to £9 for 20 440ml cans.
I thought it was a bargain at 20 for £12... shame I bought some on Saturday for £12 but will be going to stock up later so thought I'd share, just hope the offer is the same in store as it is online.Just me, in my own little world

Stella to £9 for 20 440ml cans - bargain! Cheers. I too bought a load of beer at a non bargain price the other day
but this is cheaper than on P & O ferries
