OMG, my flat is freaking roasting! It is an old warehouse and the walls are just under a metre thick and made of stone. Lets just say they retain the heat well. Plus i'm 3rd of five floors so i get heat below and above.

The walls sound lovely - I bet it is good in winter too. Very cold here.

I have sorted our bedroom, emptied and filled the DW and WM, hoovered downstairs. Struggling for motivation with the building works mess and I know there is more to come. It will be worth it in the end but the dust is just grim at the moment, and I am still very busy working to raise funds to pay for materials. Really looking forward to next week off for half term with the boys.

Lady Liberty has asked me to pass her love on to everyone. She is in touch daily with Diva too. Toots -I hope your update was less worrying than it sounded.

Just back from tyre place, they don't have the tyres in but should have them tomorrow so that will be another trip.
Kitchen is coming round nicely, i think it is just one big hotspot to be honest.
Right i'll get the bedding in the TD and get another load on, then some kiddies will be home then ned to lift DD.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Afternoon all,

We've been to the hospital for Ds1's appointment and we stopped off at McDonalds on the way home. I put the washing out and put another load in the wm before picking up Dss from school. Ds2 is driving me mad coming in and out from the garden i wish he'd make his mind up as i have to keep coming in and out too. I should finish the bedrooms or the kitchen but i CBA.

Finally caught up with the thread! I did the kitchen yesterday morning, then spent the rest of the day preparing for inspection this morning. By then, I'd decided that I had done all that I possibly could, so I was just going to go for it and enjoy it. Happily, they didn't come in to the first lesson, grotty group came in in a foul mood, but did do some work with a lot of persuasion and a fair amount of bribery.

Second lesson was the bottom Year 7 set, which I love teaching anyway, and the Spanish assistant was with us. We did a version of Through the Keyhole (complete with cheesy music - now that I've learned how to insert music into powerpoint!) and it went really well. The Head of Special Needs, and the advisor seemed pleased. I didn't get a chance to see them after, so I don't know what the official 'mark' is. Then, we had cake and gave the assistant a card and present to say thank you. And tried to pick up the paper, scissors, glue etc that we were wading through!

I officially started my birthday at 11, with coffee and cakes, had cards and a little present from the two assistants and colleagues, then did a few bits and came home.

DS2 and DD had tidied downstairs, and DD has baked a cake, so it looks like I have an evening off!

    Pen-Pen
    - avatars have reappeared of their own accord! Thank you.

Valli - interesting, I was told that as I am paid for two and a half days INSET, it makes no difference when they are. I just get to miss a day off, when everyone else gets a day off classes. I wouldn't have done the display, it's on The List. Love the stories!

Love and hugs to toots, Lady-Liberty and Diva, as well as any other poorly Flyladies.

sexymouse - thank you for my birthday card! Will email soon.

:hello:hi to hex, dusty, sexymouse and all my flylady friends!

You're right Hex, they are very good in winter, i have on oil radiator that is in the livingroom/kitchen and that is all is needed for the whole flat. Granted it's not a huge flat! No heating on ever in the bedrooms, in fact we removed the unsightly white meter heating from the flat as it simply wasnt needed and they were so ugly:o

Have picked LO up from school and have listened to her read. Just going bung another load in WM as i didnt get round to it earlier and then make a start on dinner.

    ETA Happy Birthday Serena :bdaycake:

Not much achieved today as feeling very tired for some reason.
Plus full length mirror fell down on the back of my ankle after I had cleaned it. Still throbbing/bleeding.:(
At least don't have to make any tea for DD as she cooked honey mustard chicken thighs at school and rock cakes.:)

    Happy Birthday Serena!

TD on - my electricity measurey thingy came yesterday, and I have to say I may need to invest in some pegs . Small boys are doing some very 'troll in a cold pork futures warehouse' style measuring of what each thing costs to use :rotfl:. Ironing, hoovering and washing are all now forbidden apparently :p. I am however allowed to make some buns whilst the oven is on.

    ETA Ouch for Maisy Moo
