SubWay rip off

Went into SubWay yesterday @ 6pm and ordered the 'Sub of the Day' for £1.99, a large sign outside the store said ' make it a footlong for £1 extra after 4pm' so far so good:)

When I came to pay the chump on the till charges me £3.79, the last time I checked £1.99 + £1= £2.99:(

Chump says the extra 6" will be £1.80, I said the sign says only £1 extra, chump says it does not include Sub of the Day. They had already made the footlong, the chump says we can't do it for £2.99, I said 'you can't do it?' he says 'no', I said 'forget it' then chump has to throw sarnie in bin:doh:

It's probably written in miniature letters somewhere that you can't combine the two offers, but even so, what a chump. Clearly not the franchise owner!

That does seem unfair, and i bet they were miffed having to chuck it away...you'd have thought they'd prefer to make £2.99 than £0.00

at £2.99 they are still at least coverign their direct costs and overheads....what a chump.....Why not explain what happened to the manager??

You should do it every day for a month :rotfl: That'll teach 'em for being awkward If the 'small print' isn't big enough to actually read then it's not your fault and you can't be expected to pay so much when you're not expecting to

You can't use any other deal in conjunction with sub of the day..

Which is really stupid, because, if you wanted that sub anyway, cos it's your favourite, and not because it's on a deal, you still lose out.

I used to find that although the subway sandwiches were fairly tasty that they were far too expensive really!

I would visit the store again and see if it is written into the small print that you cant combine the offers - though I suspect that it will be!
