Mushy stuff is good! I moan like mad about my OH at times, especially his lack of help with the housework but I love him to bits and now I feel like I know what a good relationship should actually be like!
Although that said, I had a period of 2 years being single after splitting with my ex and I really enjoyed myself, even though I did some shameful stuff :rotfl::A. I think I probably needed that break before being able to commit myself properly to another relationship.
I vote us girlies should meet up for a night out at some point in the future, I reckon we would get on like a house on fire

I met my current OH 3 days after coming out of a 2 year relationship. I really wish I had gone crazy for a year or two, but I didn't feel like that at the time.
I have been in relationships my whole life and just wish I had taken the time to be me.
It would be great to meet up for a night out, not sure where is central to us all though!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Doing a very quick map look and based on the fact that me and you are the furthest apart...Somewhere around Reading looks pretty in the middle...it's just under 2 hours for me (I used to drive down there all the time), what's it like for you?
Think it's not far from Becs either...that's assuming she would want to come :rotfl:

I think its about 2 hours for me as well.
I'm sure Bec's would be up for it. Not quite sure when my budget will allow for it though lol!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Damn those budgets!
Well Becs goes to Borneo in Feb so we could plan either Jan or when she returns? I know there is a travellodge in central Reading and from the looks of it a room is £23.50 a night if you book in advance which isnt too bad, espeically if people were happy to share etc - MSE all the way :rotfl:
We will wait till Becs turns up and get our heads together to fathom a plan

Goodness, I was only away for half a day and I've missed War and Peace! I'll never keep up with you all when I'm back at work!
It might make you all feel better, but I was with my husband for 9 years (though we did have a 'break' during this time) before we got married. We'd been through quite a bit in one way or another (which I won't bore you with) and he was changing careers and relocating. I moved (so left family, friends and job) to be with him in 2006 on the understanding we would get married. I had wanted to be engaged before I moved but that didn't happen. A year later, still no engagement (despite having picked out a lovely spot in Whistler for a proposal) so I did give him an ultimatum, I'd made a lot of sacrifices and he hadn't made any. I know this was a gamble but I had just waited long enough and given up lots. I also knew that he needed a rocket up his **** before he would decide to do anything, let alone get married. I can't remember setting a date but I did start looking for jobs back home. Anyway, the engagement came and we were married 9 months later. I know I took a gamble but I knew that I wanted to be married (to him) and if he didn’t want the same I was wasting my time.
This wouldn’t necessarily be the right thing for somebody else today, so I’m not advising that, but our relationship now is even better than before we were married. I know a piece of paper technically shouldn’t make a difference, but somehow to me it did, and I know it does to him too.
ps am I invited to the meeting?

I wish I was brave enough to do something like that RP, I spend my whole life being scared to take a chance.
Oh yes Rum Punch you are most definitely invited! I think Adam should qualify as well despite not being a girl lol!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Sorry to stray totally off topic but....
Just spoken to my manager at the pub and am feeling very , I asked if she wanted me to work Saturday night and she said she didn't....then she started waffling on about how tight things are and the pub isn't making any money at the moment and she has had to scrimp together money to pay the cleaner blah blah... and she just thought I should know!
Basically, between the lines I think she is trying to get rid of me! Whilst I understand if business is bad she has to make cuts but she has taken on 3 people after me and when she had no one to do bank holidays etc I did them and now it looks like I am in the firing line :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. One of the most recent people she took on is now working full time so she has too many staff. Maybe I am slightly jumping the gun but it certainly seems like she is building me up for it in such a round a bout way. That would royally c0ck everything up for me

Oh no Jody, don't volunteer to leave, ignore all hints and if she does try to get rid of you point out those that came after you.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
