Thought I would add that a girl at work has been waiting 9 years now!!
 9 years!!!! I can't wait that long.....ultimately (as per my pm) what is important to me more than anything is being happy so that takes first place in my heart and life.....as long as I am that then all is good
One day we'll have our dreams JodyMaybe your OH is just pro-longing it as it's talked about and then wouldn't be a surprise for you?? Perhaps don't mention it at all....see what happens!
My friends now husband used to say to her, "the more you talk about it the longer it'll take for me to propose to you".....she finally decided to take him at his word and sure enough a few months after not even mentioning it at all she had her dream proposal....he just wanted it to be a complete suprise and not on the back of many discussions from her :rotfl:0 -

One of my friends is completely obsessed with getting her boyf to propose, she's getting herself really stressed about the fact that he hasn't done it yet, even though they've only been together a little over 2 years. I keep telling her to stop nagging him about it, as I'm sure it's not going to put him in the right frame of mindI am sure that he'll do it when he's ready though, he's a real sweetie, and I'm sure he's planning to stay with her for ever, I think it's just a case of getting his head around it.

I had to wait 7.5 years! We actually had been 'seeing' eachother a year before that!! So 8.5 years and 2 children later i am engaged!
I was the same and really didnt want him to propose coz he felt he had to. My SIL is like that with her partner and i cringe to watch her making digs about not proposing yet!Orange Fairy

.
He got the message afterwards and he did proposed a couple of months later though:j:beer:, shame we can't agree on any part of the wedding
.
:rotfl:Ha ha....love the turn downs....serves him right!!! Lovely that you got the happy ending in terms of proposal though:D:D Weddings, from what I know, always cause issues re who to invite, where to wed....so on and so on.....:p

I have to keep reminding myself that two years isn't long in the grand scheme of things and I do believe he has every intention of marrying me one day, I think I just had it in my head that it would be before I was 30 which just so isn't going to happen!!I had to wait 7.5 years! We actually had been 'seeing' eachother a year before that!! And your wedding sounds like it is going to be fantastic, some things are worth waiting for I guess!!Choc-addict wrote: »:rotfl:Ha ha....love the turn downs....serves him right!!! Can't say that I am looking forward to that part of it, I'm the kind of girl who would be happy with a barbie in the garden which might make life easier when the time comes!

That's excellent!! I do sometimes think that men just don't really get it! I think my OH would just let me get on with everything which would be fine with me as I do have quite a controlling nature! When are you getting hitched? x

I do try not to talk about it a lot of the time in case he thinks I am hinting but at the moment we are going to a wedding this October, my boss and friend are getting married next summer and I think my best friend might be getting hitched in the next 18 months so it would be almost impossible to not talk about it...perhaps one of my goals should be no wedding talk for 3 months :rotfl:

Love the diary!
My OH works with a bloke who took his now wife with him when he bought the engagement ring (she knew exactly what it was) he then waited 6 months to proposed and even took the ring to work with him so she wouldn't find it and wear it! If that had happened to me I wouldn't have married the swine!!
