My OH works with a bloke who took his now wife with him when he bought the engagement ring (she knew exactly what it was) he then waited 6 months to proposed and even took the ring to work with him so she wouldn't find it and wear it! If that had happened to me I wouldn't have married the swine!!
We're trying to clear debt then save up for a wedding as well, we're not doing too bad really but can't wait till we're on the saving bit- I'm subscribing now look forward to hearing more from you

Hmmm, hmmm, OH bought the ring the day before we were due to fly to Spain and I naivly thought he would propose there...NOT! I chose my ring but by just chance, we walked by the shop and I pointed him which one I liked, he went back the next day and bought it and left the receipt on the fireplace accidently. In Spain I was waiting for the perfect moment but never came, than I was looking for the ring for weeks (found it in his suit jacket:o) and wore it secretly when he was out...I'm really bad as you can see...He proposed 6 months later, apparently he planned it that he'd propose at Xmas time but I provocated him before twice
.
We're not getting married...can't agree on location (we are from different countries), how many people we should invite, who should be there, etc. My opinion is that there is no point having a wedding if I can't have it my way, in my parents' garden with appr. 30 people. I won't be happy doing it just the 2 of us (that's what he wants) therefore what's the point doing it? We shall see but I'm not giving in:rotfl::rotfl:.BTW I'm 30, OH is 33.0 -

I agree completely if you can't have the day you want whats the point -my trouble is deciding what I want sometimes eloping seems like the best option! My OH is happy to go along with whatever I decide on as long as it doesn't cost a fortuneOfficial DFW Nerd Number 526:T

Oh no, such a shame you found the receipt!!! I wonder if he would have proposed in spain had you not spotted, sorry let me rephrase that....if he hadn't stupidly left the receipt out??? |Ooh, good luck with the wedding plans - hope you can sort the location0 -
He didn't know I found it! I didn't tell him, I just put 2 and 2 together...WOMEN:). Thinking back I was making extra efforts to look extremely pretty all the time, you know, just in case

Weddings everywhere  I am the same.....erm sorry was.....I always thought i'd be settled, married and have little ones before I turned 30 and I am 32 this year :eek::eek: That said, i'm loving life and doing lovely things like walking, climbing - doing a kayaking course whilst away on hols and so on....not sure i'm ready (just yet) to give up my adhoc lifestyle
xx
These blinking weddings do seem to come in batches don't they? Or maybe we just happen to look out for them? I said to OH that EVERYONE (slight exaggeration) is getting married next year and it was so common and he replied 'nah, end of 2012' - not sure if that was him suggesting a date or what....does he seriously think I want a winter wedding?. I am not too sure about having more children, I have to hand on heart say I'm not the best mum in the world and because daughter lives with my mum we have so much free time and I can't see me giving that up again. OH isnt particularly enamoured with children either although he knows that if I want them then we ARE having themLittle_Miss_Red_Head wrote: »Love the diary!

Which daily scratchies do you do - sounds like an easy way to get some extra cash
Welcome :T OMG @ buying the ring then leaving it so long! I think I would be going absolutely bonkers, patience is so not a virtue of mine, I know I would have ended up stamping my feet and crying until it was on my finger!
I do the daily scratchcard on Butlins Bingo, you have to register and deposit £10 then you can have the free daily which is a minimum of 10p, you can do one card a day but you can have two on Sundays! I quite often get 20p's and have had a few 50p's too. Once you have 10p in your account from the scratchies you can withdraw your initial ten pound deposit (You could do all this when I joined so I assume it is the same but worth checking!). I do it every morning now, it only takes 30 secondsHmmm, hmmm, OH bought the ring the day before we were due to fly to Spain and I naivly thought he would propose there...NOT! I think I would have assumed he would propose on the holiday too and I can totally see me hunting it out and wearing it....I will unashamedly admit that a few times after OH has left for work I have been into the spare room, which is where he keeps all his DJ equipment, and seacrhed for receipts/boxes :rotfl: obviously not found anything yet!
Sorry to hear you can't agree on the wedding, I really hope you can compromise on something, it would be a shame not to after all that waiting
