I've just spent a few hours reading your diary, I'm a similar personality type to you, so it's inspiring to know that a "want in now" kinda girl can resist temptation and end up saving for such a wonderful place like the Maldives!
Glorious pictures, can't wait to see you there & am subscribing :D

Brilliant savings total Jody :D Well done you. Do you think you'll be able to save the balance of the holiday before you have to pay it? It would be nice if you could do it without removing extra from your savings, would leave you with a good start towards paying things off when you get back? :)

Welcome along Nic! Thanks for taking the time to catch up with my diary, a daunting task given that it's now a whopping 69 pages!

I resisted temptation for as long as I could but as I don't stand to save anything by using the money for early repayment...... ;)

Hey Jules, thanks my love. Well we have to pay by the middle of Feb from memory so I think it would be too optimistic of me to try and re-save the £1,350 I still need to pay (even typing that mount makes me cringe a little :o) in that time BUT....I will do my best to re-save that by the time we actually go in May :D. That would give me 5 paydays so would work out to £270 a month which is what I have been saving anyway. I think my mum will give me some $ for my birthday in March and have told OH not to get anything and to put the money towards the holiday.

Hmm,that's a tough one as I am wondering whether I can stomach working at the pub every week for the whole year....I think at some point I will want to drop down to maybe a shift every other week but all the time the work is there it's my intention to carry on.

I think that from my budget re-work I should be able to save at least £350 ish a month so I think my total savings target for 2011 will be around the £3,500 mark :D. That would definately be enough to see the back end of my DMP!

I sometimes wonder how much longer I can put up with the extra shifts and then before I know it I've just agreed to a load more! :D

For as long as you can manage it, it really will help boost your savings x

You are right Bec! I will just see how it goes I think :)

Sorry for absence yesterday, had a snowy nightmare :rotfl:. It wasn't too bad on the main roads but up at work it wasn't too good. I also dared to venture to my skin specialist appointment which was almost a waste of time as she wants to refer me to a consultant which could take another 6/8 weeks

Ended up leaving work about 3.30pm, just in time to catch the motorway blizzard! It's been snowing all night and all morning here, there was a jack knifed lorry on the A road I have to use to get to work so most of us are working from home today. OH's van wouldn't start and the AA guy who came out to him got stuck and had to be pushed by the bin men :rotfl:.

Quite enjoying slobbing around in my jim-jams though :D

I am so jealous that everyone has snow apart from me!

I would be expected to walk into work though I think!

How come they are referring you again Jody?
