Just think though, with the savings habits you are making now, you probably would be able to save up and buy that car!:)

What are share options? I am so dense with that kind of stuff! :o

The company award me 1,000 share options which I can buy after 3 years for £2.75 per share, the idea is that I buy them at that price just before we do a share deal where we sell shares for maybe £4/£5 so the shares never actually cost me anything, I just get the profit between the cost and the sale rate....in effect it's free money :D.

I think I've got 2,250 options now at varying rates and I would hope to make upwards of £2 on each one so it's an extra few thousand for nothing :)

I guess I'm lucky that I love my job, I worked hard for my qualifications (this is a second career for me, having had six years off when the kids were little). I always wanted to do what I am doing now, but sometimes I wonder what life would be like if I had a nice little 9-5 number and knew what the inside of my house looked like!!! I do hope to earn enough in next few years (well, perhaps ten years) to be able to give it up and buy a guesthouse in Italy, but that dream may well be knocked on head if still with BF as hell never leave these grey and windy shores...

Anyway, all this talk of pay rises and bonuses is getting me feeling all festive! Traditionally I ahve always bought me and the kids something nice with it, and then used the rest usually for holidays, new kitchens etc. Well actually, what I do is pay off the credit card with it and then immediately load it back up with above said purchases! this time, I am really, really looking forwad to throwing as much as I possibly can at Virgin - that'll be the best gift yet! Oh to only have one card.... even if it will still have £16 k on it (not to mention the loan, but let;'s not break my sunny mood!)

I always liked the idea of Apuglia, but the flights are not so readily available which makes it hard for weekends away (I thought I would probably have to carry on working when I first bought the place whilst doing it up etc, so for ease was planning on being nearish to an airport). I found a lovely place in Orvietto, but then my situation changed and for various reasons I did not proceed, and bought a second home in the UK instead. It was probably the right thing to do, but I always kind of regret not going for the heartfelt decision...

You never know what the future will bring, once your debt free maybe you can have that holiday home x

When your debt free will you quit the pub?

Hmm, Im not sure! Sometimes I think I will quit as soon as my debt is paid off as I wont technically 'need' the money but at the same time....I love money and it's so hard to adjust to not earning that. I might carry on until either my birthday at the end of March or once I've paid for my Maldives holiday :D, if it stays quiet over Xmas she might not want me to carry on anyway so I'll just continue for now and see what happens.

Am thinking that I start my professional level of exams next winter and they will be hard so it wouldn't make much sense to jeopardise them for a few hours work in the pub. Once I am all paid off I can sit down and work out a realistic savings budget and see how I feel. :)

Put my geeky transformer models on Ebay earlier and I hadn't realised that one of them was number 1,500 of the 1,500 they made! OH reckons that makes it extra special and it does already have a bidder so will keep my fingers crossed. Also got OH to dye my hair today so for the time being I have no greys :o, got to have a bite to eat soon then get ready for work. Tomorrow is a study day and then it will be Monday again before I know it :(
