I thought in a free society it was up to individuals what they spent their money on?

there is always one who thinks they have the god given right to dictate what you buy and how much it should cost isnt there?

You must have a weird sounding smoke alarm as we have the same kettle and it is nowhere near as high pitched as a standard smoke alarm.
Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.

It was bought to boil water, which it does, the beeping is a product feature and not a fault/defect. I assume the beep is to let people with bad eyesight know when they have replaced the kettle correctly, and I would be surprised if there wasn't a way to turn this feature off.

The OP made no real effort to see if the feature could be turned off. ("so i looked right at the base and didn't notice a switch, doesn't mean its not there!")

Rather stupidly the feature cannot be switched off and quite a few product reviews of this type of kettle point out how annoying the "curse of the beep" can be.

I was just wondering why anyone with £50 to waste on a kettle is bothering with a money saving forum. You can spend your money on anything you want as far as I'm concerned. By the way, my opinion is just as valid as the snide remarks posted by others.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Why? Do you need to be on the breadline to save money? Maybe they enjoy spotting deals on the Grabbit forums, which incidentally are not limited to money saving items either.

The forums aren't income assessed before you can join are they? Or did I miss that when I signed up then?

Didn't you know that Martin demands a copy of your P60 and employment history before verifying your account? I've had to pass up numerous lucrative jobs and refused to claim a lottery win just so I could stay posting here.
