  • Keep the kettle and dump the broken dog.

Get another one without an oversensitivity disorder.
Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling

The kettle doesn't do what you want it to do, i.e. be moved beep free.

If there is no information about this and you were not made aware of it before purchase then you might have a case to say it is not fit for purpose (from your point of view)

    .

A kettle's purpose is to boil water. It does that so is fit for purpose.

OP - explain to the retailer the issue. However, you do not actually have the legal right to a refund. I am, however, sure the retailer will be sympathetic.

The kettle is gone and we kept the broken dog!

A new silent kettle now adorns the kitchen.

I can understand your annoyance. My dog was terrified of beeps like the fire alarm... that and crackers. If he heard a beep, we'd usually find him trying to climb onto the shelves in the living room. He'd just keep trying to get as high as possible.

He's deaf now, but if I had a beeping kettle I'd be annoyed.

I had to buy a kettle a while back. I just wanted a plain, plastic, 360 degree cordless base, fast boil kettle. No lights. No digital controls. Just those things. It was actually really hard to find one that did these things, and nothing else. I had to get one that lights up blue when it is on.

you have to wonder what the purpose of these beeps are?
if you are lifting the kettle then you need a beep to tell you

maybe its real purpose is to stop the dog making sneaky cuppas when you are out?
