Well hello there everyone, I have been a little lacking with posting to my diary lately as have been really busy with work and other things. Have actually had time to sit down and calculate using snowball what my DFD will be so with making the overpayments (an extra $98 a fortnight) to the loan (which has the highest interest rate of 25.75%) the snowball calculator reckons that I will be Debt free September 2014 . Well wasnt that an eye opener must admit ive had a few of them since joining this wonderful site. Well Sig now needs to be updated again to reflect what I have calculated.
- Car Loan - Balance 4/6/2010 $5220.86
- Car Loan - Today 28/6/2010 $5020.80 (after one payment $236.50 and one over payment $98) Interest is added on the 16th of each month.
- My Credit Card - $174.46 (Will all be paid off by due date of 20/7/2010)
- OH Credit Card - Approx $4900 min payments only to this $103pm as it is a lower interest rate than the loan so once the loan is done and dusted everything will be thrown towards this (and the limit will then be reduced to $2000 from $5500)
- Student Loan - $26,213 This is a long term thing, payment will have to be made this year as I have earned over the threshold but this will come from my tax return. Other than that I will be trying to set aside $40 per fortnight to put towards a lump sum as for ammounts paid over $500 the government will contribute 10%.

Another Day is almost over and also it was payday, well actually pay came through at 2am and im still awake as I am working tonight (only 2 days off and working for 5 this week as another guard is away on leave and im covering). So another overpayment on the car loan has been payed (balance is now $4922.80) with the regular fortnightly payment due out on friday, waiting for the money that OH has put into my account from his pay then the balance of CC2 will be paid off for the month. Now just waiting for this months bills to start rolling in.
Have learnt to bake bread over the last few days, made a multigrain loaf and rolls and also a really yummy (if I do say so myself lol) fruit loaf.Car Loan [STRIKE]$4471.47[/STRIKE] $1,254.70, CC1 Approx $4900, CC2 $108.00, HECS (student loan) $26,213 Total Debt - [STRIKE]$35,712.76[/STRIKE] $32,475.70DFD - September 2014Savings: Not smoking pot $397.98 (16/7/10), House Deposit $11,925.24 (16/7/10)Savings Total - [STRIKE]$12,013.06[/STRIKE] 12,323.22NSD Challenge June: 15/15 July: 9/120 -

Hey woo, yeah still plodding along here. OH is still smoking but i have now been smoke free for almost 2 months. Feeling a lot better for it as well, not pushing OH about it as I think it is something you have to do for yourself because if you are not ready it wont work. I would like to see him quit though, and he has cut down a fair bit since I stopped so I guess thats a good thing.Car Loan [STRIKE]$4471.47[/STRIKE] $1,254.70, CC1 Approx $4900, CC2 $108.00, HECS (student loan) $26,213 Total Debt - [STRIKE]$35,712.76[/STRIKE] $32,475.70DFD - September 2014Savings: Not smoking pot $397.98 (16/7/10), House Deposit $11,925.24 (16/7/10)Savings Total - [STRIKE]$12,013.06[/STRIKE] 12,323.22NSD Challenge June: 15/15 July: 9/120

Well its been a while since I posted as there has not been all that much to report. Shopping must be done tommorow as we are fast running out of stuff, including the meals that I made up and froze. Looking at spending about $150 that should last another fortnight so should be all good. Pay day is next week, which means more money that can be paid onto debts. Looking foward to our group certificates arriving in the mail so that we can hurry up and get our tax done (although it looks like I might have to pay tax this year due to money not being taken out for my student loan grr) but the OH should get a decent return. Still waiting on the water bill and the gas bill to show up thought they would have been in by now (hmm never thought i would be wanting bills to arrive lol).
List for tommorow
- Shopping (Supermarket and Butchers)
- Cooking (from meal plan and freeze for the fortnight)
- Cleaning
- Kitchen
- Bird Cage
- Washing (should only be 1 or 2 loads)Car Loan [STRIKE]$4471.47[/STRIKE] $1,254.70, CC1 Approx $4900, CC2 $108.00, HECS (student loan) $26,213 Total Debt - [STRIKE]$35,712.76[/STRIKE] $32,475.70DFD - September 2014Savings: Not smoking pot $397.98 (16/7/10), House Deposit $11,925.24 (16/7/10)Savings Total - [STRIKE]$12,013.06[/STRIKE] 12,323.22NSD Challenge June: 15/15 July: 9/120 -
Well here I am again people. Hold on and you might want to get urself a cuppa as this might end up being a VERY long post lol.
Yes I know Its been a while since I last posted, life has just been hectic, however I have been keeping up with everything and in terms of money well its still plodding along at an ok pace. Another overpayment to the car loan went out yesterday so thats another $98, the normal DD payment for it will come out of OH's account tommorow ($236.50) but interest is also calculated tommorow (im guessing that they will calculate that before taking out the DD). So will have to update signature accordingly. Was rather annoyed last night as I managed to muck up a bill payment $100 regular payment to internet bill was paid on the 1/7, then the phone bill came in (im new to the online billing for this) and somehow I managed to pay $241.33 to the internet bill instead of the phone grrr (that was on the 5/7). I only realised this in the early hours of this morning so now had to actually pay the $241.33 to the phone bill and that means that it was 3 days late as it was due on the 12/7 grrr annoyed  . On the plus side I now wont have to pay the internet bill for almost 3 months. Finnaly finnished my first real knitting project A benie and have now started on a matching scarfe, I have found this rather theraputic and has been able to keep me busy while I am still in the long process of quitting smoking. Which I might add as of saturday I will have been smoke free for 2 whole months YAY. Feeling so much better and boy is the bank balance so much better of as well. Tax time is here for us, got the appointment booked for the accountant next wed (21/7 at 920am) no idea how much I will get back if anything this year as I have jumped up a tax bracket and therefore have to repay student loan (money should have been comming out for this each fortnight but hasnt because Payee mucked it up) so there is every chance that I might be stung with a rather large bill this year, but we will see how it goes. Housework has been kind of neglected again this week, work has just been to hectic and have done some OT and extra shifts will start on this today
#1 The kitchen (as it looks like a bomb has gone off in there)
#2 Bedroom - after OH goes to work I will strip the bed and put clean sheets on.
#3 Washing - Need to do this as I need clean socks lol.
Well sorry for the mamoth post. But it does feel so much better writting it all down
Take care all

Hey Mz
2 months of no smoking, that is a real achievement well done.
Hope the debt busting is still ticking along nicely? It seems so much harder in the summer as you seem to go out more and that always costs money, I'm sticking to my £10 a week budget though.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
