mm well a whole thread disappeared today with no explanation, that was at least 6 posts been deleted for no reason. It was about Martin's new board having been changed needs to reregister his members because the t and c's have been changed. And has the board served it purpose now? Also the spying on member could be consider illegal in some countries. So under the catagories you have listed which one does this come under??
Blimey, arn't we getting just a tad too serious here, more banter, please. 1a_y_wink.gif
  • so how do members know if there posts are under review or deleted. do they recieve a PM ?

I have registered under the new tos but what about old members of the old forums? They will need to sign that they agree to them.
  • If I have to delete a post I would normally PM the thread starter and explain why it was deleted, but it is hard to generalise as there can be many different reasons and thats not always appropriate.

If you have specific questions about the terms and conditions of the website, can I suggest you email abuse@moneysavingexpert.co.uk.

    Thanks

A slightly techie "How Do I" now but very useful - especially for Board Guides.

You might have noticed that the number at the top-right of every post is a link. So if you click #10 on the 10th post of this thread, you can see Judi's post all by itself. This is great if you want to direct someone to a single post rather than making them sift through a whole thread.

Sometimes you might want to point to a post while it's still in it's thread. This is a little bit harder.

When you clicked #10 you might have noticed that the url ended in ..../showpost.html?p=260262&postcount=10

    If you were to write:

[post=260262 ]Click Here[/post] (with no spaces),

this would link directly to Judi's post in situ

    e.g. [post=260262]Click Here[/post]

I knew that. 1a_y_tongue1.gif On the old site boards I used add the number of the post on to the URL before copying it and putting it in a post...message etc. so that the recipient(s) would only get the one post instead of all the page. 1a_y_wink.gif

If you have your interface set to Enhanced Interface (which you can set in the menu at the bottom here) then it's easy.

Insert a picture by clickinginsertimage.gifabove the reply box and then entering the url. You will see your pic in the reply box.

Then you highlight the pic and click createlink.gif and enter the url you want the pic to direct to

    Example:

How do i stop collecting subscriptions to threads that i reply to? Some are important, some are not so. Ive just found i am subscribed to every post i have commented on since the new style boards were up and running.
I would rather turn this option off if it is at all possible or do i have to manually delete them periodically, like the PMs?

I'm not sure how it works for everyone else Judi, but I can unsubscribe via a link on the e-mail's that are sent. Works too because I've just unsubscribed to at least one.
