''If you go into a Curry's'', sure. But they don't phone you up asking you to make an appointment for an 'electrical review'.0 -
So it's a rip off then?
I'd rather they saved on your wages and you stopped trying to flog unsuspecting customers inferior deals.
And stop annoying customers when they come into the branch. You can't set foot in there these days without someone trying to sell you sort form of insurance or other when all you're trying to do is pay in a cheque.
The PPI misselling that has gone on in Lloyds branches over the year by people in the same position as you is truly revolting.
The customer service has gone down the pan too - Indian call centre anyone?
So why not move instead of whining about poor service!?0 -
No one is being rude to anyone - were just stating opinions and advice.
You seem to have conveniently ignored every fact on this thread and jumped in with both feet into the wrong pool!
Before you start calling people ignorant again.....perhaps you would do well to stop and perhaps consider that some of us here have a lot more experience in these matters than you may think. And before you start dishing out the insults, perhaps you should also consider that perhaps some of us have a lot more financial and life experience than you do.
As I stated on your other thread, I think you need to go and have a rethink about your definitions of "abuse" and "rude" as they don't stand here.
Be nice please. And stick to the facts - are they not teaching you that at university?
I think your manner with people is truly awful and not that you'd expect from someone who has 'financial & life experience'. I'd be interested in what you do for your living and I would be sure, that it includes providing a service or product in some capacity?0 -
Having cashiered in the past, we got a lot of pressure to refer appointments. One of the many reasons I quit in the end...But every customer we saw over the counter we'd have a list of their accounts in front of us (that's just how the system worked btw, we swiped the card and the list appeared, just in case someone wanted to pay into their savings and only had their debit card), and it was up to us to see how they could benefit from xyz and refer them to an advisor straight away or make an appointment.
We each had our own target for it, and if you didn't hit your target you got some special training time. By which I mean the manager sat behind you with a clipboard watching your every move. If you let a customer go without saying anything to them they'd go over what you could have said to them - whilst the next customer was waiting to be served!!! Absolutely hated it.
From time to time you did see people where they genuinely weren't doing themselves any favours; they'd have thousands all in a basic account that was earning them sod all for years on end. Some truly didn't realise that and were grateful for the help, others not so but meh.
I didn't mind those kind of people, who genuinely could benefit. But when you're serving someone with an average current account, some okay savings, no loans and a low cc balance they've got it sorted. Unless they specifically ask you about a product (loved those ones, no selling required!) I liked to leave them alone. Which I did, unless clipboard was behind me.
Got a bit ridiculous when the system started generating "pop ups" on our screens with a little recommendation script for us to read to the customer :mad:Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....0 -
