I would email them back and point out that you rang first and did everything possible to ensure you would not have a wasted trip. Point out to them just how many miles you did and ask for at least a 50% fee for your trouble. It's not like you were in the area anyway. I don't think you should just let this go.
thank you0 -

Still I'm not breaking my contract now by mentioning {client names removed} and the fact you either lose money or earn around {fee removed} per job.
Strangely liberating being able to talk about these thingsmysterious_girl wrote: »I can see your annoyance and sympathise but such comments will cause this thread to be shut down. This will be of no use to anyone, including you, as I'm sure you're still signed up with other companies.

So you'd rather do the jobs for RE?
Sandwiches for example, I belive the fee is lower (albeit by pennies I think?), they require a photo (possibly two???), their website is appalling (Ok, so GAP's isn't great, but at least it works!), stupid questions such as "was the staff member wearing a badge? yes/no...please explain your answer", insolent staff (though agree that some of GAP's staff are quite nasty at times). Only thing that RE have over GAP in this case is that RE don't pay late month on month.0 -

Absolutely. I've not been sacked by RE. I've always been paid by RE and never left out of pocket. Any problems I've had have always been sorted. While they are bumbling they are certainly not the malicious, conniving little s***s that gapbuster are.0 -
Can I ask if anyone has seen the "egg jobs" for london stores yet? I have seen a couple which I think are the old branded ones but I think I have missed the boat for the rest. Damnit!0

Wow! I've just had RE actually using common sense! My photo of a store didn't come out but I didn't realise until I'd completed the whole blooming report, so I emailed them to detail right and left etc. and prove I was at the right store, and got a swift reply saying it was fine, just upload the receipt image twice (as it wouldn't let me proceed without uploading *something*) and they'd see if they had a stock image they could use!
Isn't it nice when they're actually reasonable about something? :-)I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)
