    Just a very quick waffle:

You mentioned an LG one (refurbished) from ebay for £129.97 in post 67.

Ebuyer have an LG one, different model (new) for £118.99.

Don't know much about LG recorders (I think Samsung & LG tv's are supposed to be okay).

    HTH

On checking further, I don't think the above has a hard-drive. Sorry! Getting lost in all the technicalities

Well done for finally taking the plunge, Miroslav. :j Can I ask where/which model you went for in the end?
And of course I'll help with any queries, if I can.
(After all the help I receive on this forum it's good to be able to return the favour...............)

Went for the Sony one from the other day. Seller responded to questions really fast, has good reviews etc - 6 month warranty, so as soon as I get it and hopefully set it up, I can get going!

Within a couple of hours of purchase, got a despatch e-mail.

I'll be able to help someone one day. I know how to....open an e-mail ;)

Seriously, glad you got it sorted.

P.S. Not only can you open emails, you can post on forums AND order from Ebay :)

    :rotfl:

I can also turn a PC on and off :D

The DVD Recorder has arrived already - original box/packaging, not even a scratch, so could be a customer return without them opening. Will have to pop out to get some things i'd not thought of for the room it's going in - an adaptor and another scart lead, but it looks good so far - just have to try a DVD+R later and see the quality of LP.

    Arrrrgggghhhh!

Set it up as it suggests and I hit record on the DVD player HDD and play on the vcr and.......fuzzy recording.

Cannot find out why I can't do it and i'm totally lost. £145 down the drain it seems :(

Don't panic yet, Miroslav. You probably need to adjust something. For example I have to check that on my dvd recorder it says L1 on the front display panel when I've finished setting it all up. Otherwise it just shows a white screen and records white noise (fuzzy recording).

To get L1, I press the 'Input Select' button on the dvd recorder remote until I get L1 on the front display section.

If it doesn't work on L1 for you, try the other options eg. L2 as it depends how your leads are connected.

    Might be worth trying this:)

Re: PC World - you need to reserve and collect ONLINE as the price instore is different.

I'm not even sure I have everything connected. It says I need to connect both the VCR and TV to the DVD. I can play the VHS but as soon as I turn on the DVD it changes the screen to the DVD and I can't see the video playing anywhere.

I copy the instructions to record and it doesn't record anything, just fuzz.

The whole L1 thing is confusing me - I don't know what is what.

Thanks about PC World - i'll do that once I know this machine works :o
