I knew I'd seen something before about home made gel air fresheners. Haven't tried making them myself yet, really must get my butt in gear! Here's the link:

Can`t stand smell of vanilla, men seem to like the smell in their cars.

I would like a continuous one like a battery operated or a plug in one but because they are a bit pricey at around £4 or 5 each I would like a recommendation before I buy. I'm looking for a scent that isn't too artificial, I have smelt some that seem to be like old ladies perfumed talcum powder IYKWIM so help me choose please!
Essential oils are by far the best and most natural.
Citrus, floral or herbal aromas are the most appealing. It depends on your taste really.
Citrus is very uplifting, floral is more relaxing and soothing. Herbal are more pungent. Be careful if there is anyone pregnant using the room tho'An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

We tend to make our own incense and burn it on charcoal discs. I'm particularly partial to benzoin. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

If you look in the Mega Index thread under Cleaning, there is a list of threads on air fresheners, including a few on plug in air fresheners.
Air Freshening:
- Ambi Pur Plug In Refils
- Burnt smell
- Cupboards stale
- Fish - something fishy
- Make your own gel freshener
- Odours
- Plug in air fresheners, alternatives?
- Reuse plugin refills

For plug ins it has to be lavender and chamomile - can't remember which one it is, but they have a scratch and sniff.
For oil burner bergamot or lavender.0 -
You can buy oil burners that have deep cups on top so that the water won't evaporate before the tealight goes out.
If you go for scented candles/essential oils in a burner, then remember that putting a candle in the fridge for a few hours before lighting it can make it last twice as long.
I wouldn't be without my essential oils. Lavendar is my favourite and, coupled with peppermint, is great for headaches.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
