put some vanilla extract in old pot etc or something more formal and the room will smell like vanilla
cut up some lemons and put them in big pot of water and boil-after hour citric fragance should refresh room
fill the bathtub with very hot water and put vinegar in it and then hang clothes with smoke odours etc above it and the vinegar will help reduce the odour
boil cinnamon sticks and cloves in water on stove and that should permeate around
sprinkle baking soda, tea bags or coffee grounds in your shoes to reduce foot odour
baking soda in the bottom of bins helps reduce odours
baking soda in the bottom of litter tray won't harm your cat and will absorb some of urine odour

Just used your top tip last night and put vanilla essence into a couple of little terrocotta pots and now the kitchen and utility room smell lovely! :TOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Technically no....
Bicarbonate of soda (which I was taught at Girl Guides kept the fridge smelling fresh!) is NOT baking powder. Baking powder (which you can add to plain flour for cakes etc) is bicarbonate of soda, plus cream of tartar, plus some rice or other flour often)
I think the full cleaning effect comes from the bicarbonate on its own....however, baking powder mixed into a paste is a fantastic exfoliator for the skin! Some people swear by using it straight to brush their teeth with too!!0 -

Clean your teeth and the stove at the same time, with the same toothbrush - saves time. Even better, clean your stove WITH your teeth 0
