Does anyone know of a good on-line tax programme for the short self assessment form SA210(2006)
All the ones I have found seem to relate to the full SA form.
Either privately or through the IR website, I can't seem to find what I am after. (It is probably me not seeing the wood for the trees!)

I'm an electrician (as you may guess by the name) , I have used taxcalc for years
http://www.taxcalc.com
and it's great, well worth the money. I use a program called quicken (like microsoft money) and it prints out a 3 page summary and it's all relatively straight forward.
The only slightly complicated things are capital allowances, but these get brought forward, and if you keep these worked out on a spreadsheet it's relatively easy.baldly going on...0 -
My son pays us a monthly allowance. If he has already paid tax on it do we have to pay again?0

I will be using the IR online for my Wife's self-employed tax return as I did last year.
However, it's a real pain collating all her receipts etc into the relevant categories of expenses. It would be nice to have an on-going software package or spreadsheet so that we can keep up to date throughout the year.
Does anyone know of a simple (free or cheap) spreadsheet that we can use? Ideally it should be quick to fire up, accept the value of a receipt into the correct category and keep a running total.
OK I know I could knock up an Excel spreadsheet failry easily but I'm a bit short of time doing my own day-job.

I was completing the IR tax form but have £6.00 interest from an overseas
bank. The IR on line form does not include foreign income section. I phoned and was told to do a manual return or find a private co. on line form with foreign section included.
Can anyone help. Ideally I would like a free, easy to follow on line form. Alternatively perhaps I could submit IR on line form and write with details of the £6.00 interest oversight?
Any advice on easy quick way forward would be appreciated.
Thanks

Has anyone used https://www.fasttax.co.uk ? They seem one of the cheapest and claim 24 hour support. I've got a shed load of capital gains stuff this year and can't use the IR website.0

I have used Taxcalc for around 3 years now & did my 2005-06 tax return in about 4 hours yesterday, from download to completion, including calculations for change of self employment basis period.
The standard price is £24.99, but as a previous customer I got it for £19.99. I think you also get last years software thrown in, so you can recheck last years calculations as well.
For those with simpler affairs & less than £30k income, Taxcalc Lite is available for just £4.99.
I find the software easy to use, & it has helped me save money in the past because of the way the software is designed.0 -
I find that the HMRC online tax return system is so good now that, in my view, it has made these other packages redundant.
Do try it at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/demo/.0
