Wow some really bitter people on here !
The OP PAID her money for a service that has not been provided due to Tesco's incompetence !!
I also would be livid !,
Incase some of you hadn't noticed you do actually have to pay a delivery charge, so effectively you have specifically paid them to deliver your shopping during a specific time, through no fault of her the OP has been let down by store.
Also what business it of any of yours as to wether or not she has more food in the house ?? Unbelievable !
To the OP , phone up the store (not the national help line, the actual store) , and ask to speak to the store manager and explain the situation, no need to be rude to them, just explain and im sure they will sort it out, tell them if a driver cant sort it out then get it delivered by a taxi that they can pay for !
I had a similar thing happen a few years ago (no fridge or freezer stuff delivered) and the national number operatives were worse than useless.
I rang my local store that handled the order and they were brilliant; I explained I was at Uni 3 nights a week and was in the middle of examx/assignments so had shopping delivered Mondays so I could cook meals for the week; by not delivering I was stuffed and had nothing for my 5 kids dinner that night.
The lady rang me back after about 10 mins, came to my house with £40 (may have been 30, not sure) for me to buy a takeaway for dinner, arranged remaining delivery for 1st thing next morning and knocked money off my bill; a very cheap weeks shop indeed!
Just stay calm and polite and you will gain far more than ranting!

Problem resolved. Been to store, they phoned Tesco CS and rearranged fro tomorrow night and refunded the money. They said there was a new driver and he couldn't find my flat. And they said that as soon as the shopping goes out from the store it is marked as Delivered. Hmm, dunno about that, why can't it say "Pending Delivery" and then "Delievered" when it actually is? I will give them the benefit of the doubt.0

How awful for the children, not have anything to eat. As a parent and expectant, why did you not prepare for your children? Tesco were terrible for not delivering but - you have to have some food left for the children? What if they could not get to you due to unforseen circumstances? Let us know if you had ANY food left for your children. So we can create a recipe for you.0

You dont have to rely on a male these days to help / support you. Those days belong in the past. There is the welfare state and Tesco if all else fails if you CHOOSE to be a modern single mother,
there are plenty of educated women who take a career break after being fertilised to raise the little ones until nursery.
However, you maybe right. There is a possibility of trolling amongst this thread...!0 -
If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing.
I hope Tesco have sorted things out for you, hopefully an apology and compensation.0
