Wondering if it's possible to stick some felt onto one side, or maybe spray something to make it thicker, but not sure if the roller mechanism would complain too much!
thanks
Can't really help with a roller blind, but could you replace it with a roman one which you could interline with some thick wadding type material?I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

as for light bulbs i have always been told the lower the wattage the less elec it uses.
we never use anything more than a 40 watt. but thats persoanl choice. but most of them are now the energy saving one's.0 -
i bought my hubby a pair of finger less gloves. hes and electrican so he needs to use his fingers , but also need to keep his hands warm when he is working out side. and i got him some thermal lined ones for under a tenner in millet's. not sure if this is a local store or they have the nationwide. but it is a camping and outdoor types shop. by that i mean they sell tents through to fishing gear.

When my Dad comes over he always complains how cold it is in my house and goes on at me about can I not afford my electric and those poor children are perishing!!! but we have storage heaters which are not that great, but we all just put extra clothes on etc. My Dad though plants himself on my sofa in coat and hat with a huge furry throw on and gets so warm (not that he admits it!) that he falls asleep!!! But I guess as he is not worried about money or the environment he can afford to sit in his house with the heating so hot that it heats the neighbourhood!!
If you are on a low income do a search for home energy efficiency grants. If you have wages of less than £15,050 p.a. you might qualify. We were told the other day that we are going to get central heating with a condensing combi boiler fitted as the majority of our storage heaters are over 20 years old.
give it a go, the worst is that they might say no!The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
I had an antie who always put a magnet at the bottom of her bed said it kept her feet warm? Something about the iron in her blood.

This thread is just going tooooo far... Why not set yourself on fire, the warmth is unbeatable. Or kill yourself, you'll never feel the cold again, and no bills to pay, beat that!0
