I have the curtains - found them in the attic - but as the place is rented, can anyone advise, what would be the cheapest least messy way to put them up?

I would suggest a tension rod like previously suggested - if you look in argos under shower you will find an extendable shower rial which is exactly the same and costs abotu £4.99 they can be extended to fit into the window recess and hold curtains well - i have these currently in my bedroom.

Do have a spare two also (for some reason) so am going to dig them out after and use them to dry things on extended in the bathroom but across the room in the evenings before bed.
    Time to find me again

How is this film attached around the edges please? Normal Sellotape or what?
    Thank you.
I found it in B&Q but my son used it for the front of his solar oven experiment and it did work well, but not on the windows yet

Have now got visions of classes of schoolchildren making solar cookers:D Come to think of it - thats not such a bad idea....any teachers on here fancy having a lesson or two on things like "make your own solar cooker".

Thinks.....am beginning to think I shoulda been in the Girl Guides as a teenager....woulda learned all sorts of useful things for now.

Just reading an email from an american online pal, she says they use Amish non-electric stuff and buy it from catalogues...Does anybody know if there is anythign similar over here ? I'm hopeless at googling, I never know what to put in and can never find anything.

I bought mine from Wilkinsons, it was called something like "instant double glazing" I had a look at their on-line catalogue but couldn't find it in there. You can probably get it somewhere though. :o

I'm just writing one of my 'special' letters to E.On who have mightily p'd me off this morning....

Anybody know how I can find out online the postal address for their MD???

I've got a name and a list of addresses but very cleverly they don't say where he is based???

    Thanks

shower curtain rods are too big for the gap unfortunately but had a brain wave and remembered flat mate has one of those pull up bars you can fit in doorways and it fits perfectly! :j Now I just need to find curtain rings that open cause the ends will be too big to slip them over...or just big curtain rings i guess

one of the very best suggestions on here has been on cooking pasta without the need to use energy over 10 minutes. I have even got my non-cooking dh to `cook` pasta this way. 1 minute in the boiling water. Lid on. Turn off and leave 15 minutes
