speak to your local trading standards, they will be able to advise further0

You could put a topic in the Praise, Vent and Warnings Board of this very site.

Thanks for your responses. At least its not just me. I have ordered from Thompson and Morgan and Fothergills before and have no problems with getting refunds or replacements on plants that arrived in a poor condition and did not survive. First and last time using Parkers.0

I can agree that fothergills have excellent customer services Suttons have been good too, T&M will do the job eventually but will take their time doing it unless you sign up to thier facebook page and write your complaint in public , funnily enough you get a same day responce if you follow this route.
J.Parker will respond within 2 days if its a sales request, so far its over 8 days for customer services for a damaged delivery so far on par with T&M but I will keep you updated0 -
So - so far - 486 views and potentially lost sales.
Would have been cheaper to refund or place, no?0 -
I bought about £70 waorth of plugs from them earlier in the year and followed the instructions to plant directly out. About 3 survived and they aren't exactly racing away.
I noticed an offer in a newspaper a couple of weeks ago for free plants (except P&P). When I noticed the supplying company was JParkers i didn't bother to send off for them.0 -

No. Drop in the ocean. Pile 'em high, sell 'em cheap, offer little in customer service and devil take the hindmost. It's a strategy that works. They have been around for a long time; longer than this forum. Only if people Google/MSE the company first, before placing an order, will they find info like this.
As someone who sells plants to the general public, face to face, offering them my telephone number and a guarantee of satisfaction, or a refund, I'm not displeased in a business sense to see threads like this. The consumer power that can be wielded nowadays is impressive, but people will always cut corners and/or try to save a few bob.
If buying a standard item like, say, a camera, I'd use an on-line source with a great customer-satisfaction rating, like John Lewis. It might cost a little extra, (not always) but I know that I'll be well treated if something goes wrong, as it did with a PVR bought before Christmas; Humax wanted to give me a refurb, but John Lewis replaced with new.:D
With 'non-standard' things, e.g. wood, plants or seeds, I'd try to see the products before buying, or if that isn't possible, do some research. For example, if you do a search on this site for Real Seeds you should learn enough about them to know what kind of an outfit you're dealing with.0 -
Will steer clear. Thanks0
