Do you mean electrical power ?
What do you want to do with this power?
Where are the existing services, relative to your property?
What sort of access do you have to your property ?

i want/need to power a house! costs over £20,000 for mains supply apparently!! cant understand why so much... have use of generator but would like to store power somehow so i dont have to keep running it as much. i have worked out power needed and max 6.5kv. i want to split power ie lights on battery system [charged when genny on ??] just not sure of best set up... looked at boat solar panels [small and up to 800w supply ] im going round in circles trying to work out best in both cost and "green"..!!

Sorry I relly cannot comment further.
I've been quoted the best part of 3K by EDF for upgrading to 3 phase from a transformer about 100 yards away.
Some guff about the 4 existing poles not being strong enough.
A neighbour (coming the other way along the lane) got a similar upgrade for about 750 a few years back.
I've found several threads on here complaining about the costs of gas & electricity supplies to new builds.

cut the bottom off a 1 litre plastic milk bottle. then scoup up yr wild bird seed ,open the top so ti pours into yr bird feeders without spilling. also you can get a LARGE SACK OF WILD BIRD SEED FOR ABOUT £11 FROM SCATS. makes it HALF the average price per kilo. its a good mix of seeds too.

    Yes I see your problem:

check out the cost of mains supply of electricity to your Build ! they came back with a £20,000 plus quote to me !! if any one knows of a very "green" way of me powering my house , let me know....

Perhaps if you start your own thread and explain your predicament (ie where you live, how far away the nearest point on the grid is. Who owns the land in between. Can you get there by public highway etc.)
When the guys came to look at my supply one of their major costs seemed to be negotiating with the land owner - I only have a right of way to my home, I don't own the lane nor does the local authority. One side of the lane is owned by a stroppy local farmer and nobody knows who owns the other half.

Alfie - check out the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales this is the link http://www.cat.org.uk/ - you can buy the makings of windmills or anything you might want on there, as well as find training courses on their use.
