Sky have a customer offer on at the moment.

The set up fee seems to vary between packages, best to call them.

If offered Sky Connect make your excuses and hang up its awful.

Up to 20Mb is the potential speed of the broadband service. Unless you can see the telephone exchange through your window you wont get it.
What you actually get depends on your distance from the exchange, bnoise on the line and the state of your internal telephone wiring.

Thanks for this. I seem to remember ringing them a while back and asking about broadband, they were advertising it as being free, but there was a 100.00 set up fee which put me off! Maybe I'll give them a call later and see what they can offer.

Failing this, I may just keep my UW landline and calls and go with Plusnet for my internet, I've heard good things about them and they are very reasonably priced.

If you only have bb from plus.net you will get a £25 set up charge.

But there is £28 (or more) currently on offer from the cashback sites for taking bb only (£38 for taking bb + phone package)

Unless you go with a cable company like Virgin, that's the same for all suppliers including UW.

Jannine did ask what the up to 20mb was all about, which I attempted to answer despite her pushing Barry down the hill.

You are quite correct regarding cable, you get the speed they state, although Virgin are not averse to throttling their service at peak times like BT do.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Very christian though, penrhyn. I try to help her too, but sadly she been so bad since doin in Barry it's really hard to keep full forgiveness in our hearts.

I also fear the devil has his mitts into her (as demonstrated by the inexplicable prolonged defence of the alterego man even after he fooled her)

You cheeky !!!!!!s!! I've been cursed ever since Janine joined Eastenders! Her name is spelt differently to mine though, and I'm not quite as bad as her! I have been tempted to push my own hubby down a hill a few times, so maybe we have something in common!! ;)

Some good news, I've just read my meters and worked out my consumption for Nov and Dec, and i've used 61.00 in gas and 51.00 in electricity, this is much better than I imagined and I'm still in quite a bit of credit!! :T

For the benefit of us all, please tell us which supplier is responsible for your latest "good news".

It is very unusual to find anyone (other than the uw reps) finding their gas and electricity from uw is so cheap they post about it here!

Or are you doing the nigewick trick and deducting your risky card "cashback" to get to the good news. (In which case the busy fool title might have to be yours too)!

I'm with EDF on the Online Saver V6 (bit of a mouthful!) tariff! Not had any problems yet, always had accurate bills due to me being very anal about submitting readings!

I do have the cashback card and I'm with UW for my landline rental/calls etc. Its working well for me at the moment, but I'm always keeping me eyes open for new deals!

You get £50 (or more, depending which cashback site you use) cashback for taking sky's broadband.

(How many £100s (over £1000) of pounds do you have to spend with the risky cashback card to get £50?)

I suppose janninew could always go for your recommendation, the babee card, and instead have her thousands of £s worth of discounted shopping vouchers delivered by regular post, insured up to £42,cart them off to the shop in her purse/handbag and use them in the shop. Nothing risky in doing this. Wait a minute..

Usual idiotic 'advice' from someone who will lie through their teeth in order to do UW down.

They dont actually send out individual vouchers they send out a gift card loaded up with the amount you require.
