Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

I think you might want to edit this post Quentin. There is a glaring mistake in it.
Unless of course...
I still am happy with their service and would not hesitate to let them, or others, know if they did not keep it up.
I choose to stick with them because using the pre payment card suits the way I have always done my shopping and I can not be bothered to go looking for the deal of the moment every couple of months. I readily accept that every now and again I could save more by swapping. Quentin and the other detractors will not accept that some people will be quite content with the way that Utility Warehouse works. The only choice open to their followers is what they say. I say, look at the numbers and make your own choice depending on your own wants.
Yes, I earn earn a bit by working with Utility Warehouse but that doesn't make me a slave to any hype, theirs or C,Q & q's.The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I see from your quote Quentin is still banging on about the one time I complained about service I had received.
Nigewick, I have shown that your new claim you have only had "one time" when you were unhappy with uw service is a lie.
Your lie is an attempt to get out of this uncomfortable situation you find yourself in (posting here again especially to tell us how good the UW system is because it ensures "satisfaction from the company in the event of a problem", which was just more promotional spin from a uw rep).
Although it's revealed that elsewhere you have complained to other uw reps that the service you have had sometimes is "atrocious" you just happily lie and tell us this was one isolated incident!
1) Were this true, why would you go public to complain like this - "atrocious" is pretty strong!
2) And why would you complain about "some" atrocious service were it just the single incident you now want us to believe?
When uw reps like you and keggs use this forum to repeatedly tell us you are "happy", when elsewhere on the net you reveal a different personna when talking to other uw reps about the company, then you cannot expect your hypocrisy (and now your lie), as well as your "unworthy character" jibes to go unchallenged.0 -
TwittersPVFC wrote: »I'll explain in a bit more detail. I have Sky Broadband Unlimited (20mb and unlimited usage), Sky Talk Unlimited and line rental. Because I have both I get a fiver off broadband. I get caller display, 1571 and 20 international countries all for free as part of that. In total it comes to £23.50 but would be £25 without Sky TV.
The equivalent UW package is £24.99 a month. However, 1571, international destinations and caller display are an extra £1.50 a month each. Plus the membership fee (either £1 or £1.50) means on total the same package on UW is £30.99 a month.
So over the course of the year being on Sky saves me roughly £90 compared to UW.
Thanks for the info. Is there a set up fee with Sky broadband, I seem to remember looking into it at some point a few years ago and there being some sort of fee? I'm not interested in 1571 as I have an inbuilt answer machine and I can see no reason for caller display (never had before!) So I suppose UW work out for me as a very similar deal as Sky?
Plus if I left UW entirely I would lose my cashback card, which gives me a fair sum of money every month due to high useage by myself and hubby.
I need to get my husband to look at all the internet deals out there, as I don't really understand what 20mb means!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

No set up fee as far as I can remember and a free wireless router. Be warned though as Sky make you use their own router which was a problem when the first one they sent us was broke!0

I've had a quick look at the Sky web-site, I think they charge a 60.00 set up fee for exisiting sky customers?:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

You get £50 (or more, depending which cashback site you use) cashback for taking sky's broadband.
(How many £100s (over £1000) of pounds do you have to spend with the risky cashback card to get £50?)0 -
Sky have a customer offer on at the moment.

The set up fee seems to vary between packages, best to call them.
If offered Sky Connect make your excuses and hang up its awful.
Up to 20Mb is the potential speed of the broadband service. Unless you can see the telephone exchange through your window you wont get it.
What you actually get depends on your distance from the exchange, bnoise on the line and the state of your internal telephone wiring. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

But that 50.00 won't even cover the set up fee that Sky charges.
My husband drives alot for work, so the card is used when he fills up the car (around 150.00 per week on fuel), I use the card when I do my weekly shop (often around 100.00 per week). I've used the card al ot for Xmas purchases. I would guess in the last month alone I have spent in excess of 1000.00 on the card.
So I receive money in my bank for doing nothing other than shopping where I normally would. I guess in your opinion that would make me a "busy fool" or maybe a "guillable?":heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

You don't have to pay £60 at all! (And any set up fee is watered down by the 3 months free)
(Though you will have to pay uw a fee if you leave!)

I only referred to you as being gullible because you have been taken in by carmine's alteregos!0
