Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

Hi peeps,
I really hope you can help.
I recently moved into a property in January that is being supplied by Utility warehouse.
The first issue I had with them was, I notified them as soon as I moved in of my starting reads and gave details to change account into my name. However up until the end of Feb this has still not been done and to cut a long story short, out of the blue I had a warrant to turn off the energy in property and end of feb. Immediately contacted them and emailed my tenancy agreement across and finally it got sorted.
However today I have now received a letter stating that a deposit of £200 is overdue and if I don't pay it in 7 days they will execute a warrant to install prepayment meters. I have no debt with them. There are 2 issues with this; the landlord does not want prepayment meters at all and the other I am a student and have no where need those funds to pay the deposit. What do I do? I have had enough of this company already.
Please help!!!!!0 -

Undoubtedly the company has performed well for investors. However since when has that meant customers are getting a good deal?
With some 36,000 salesmen, all with an obvious vested financial interest, it is not surprising that many of the great British public are not aware that their guarantees of cheaper gas/electricity are rendered worthless by the small print.0 -

interesting to see that no-one has replied re their claims that these facts are duff.
I don't deny that UW are making money as a company, I just don't like their methods. Drug dealers make money but that doesn't mean we should just agree with it.0 -
You need to speak to an active, experienced distributor to get the answers to your queries.
I believe I have stated this before as, unless there is such a person reading this thread who can be bothered to offer the information that you won't unearth yourself, you will only get half-baked and ill-informed replies.
I'm bemused though, if you don't like their methods, why are you so interested in the monetary gains from being a distributor? Genuine question btw!'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

Having witnessed the brainwashing that can occur by people promising the earth if you sign up as a distributor, I'm keen to see the evidence that some of those promises are actually true.
I've seen the martini whatever it is, I've been to a cop, but I've never seen any real facts to support the claims. The financial statements are the best I can get given distributors aren't allowed to disclose earnings (as far as I'm aware, and even if they could, would they?!) and the balance sheets just don't add up to the claims.0 -
Incomes are dependent on the individuals efforts. The more effort you put in, the more you will get out.
If you've researched the business model you should understand this.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'
