The comparison site you have used has been discussed on this thread previously, it gives cashback to anyone signing up to uw, and when this has been pointed out (as it seems to fly in the face of the often repeated claim from uw that they don't pay comparison sites for business) the uw reps have told us it is actually a site run by a uw rep!
I am saying you were wrong when coming here in support of uw to tell us the figures were a "reasonably viable alternative" when in fact they were more expensive (so why even consider them in the first place) and stressing it was for people wanting paper bills - yet not disclosing paper bills actually aren't included in the price you quoted.
Until you put up or shut up about me posting "deliberate distortions" you are in no position to ask for "evidence for 2" (especially when you slipped in your trollish request for "evidence" by way of a cynical edit to a post that had already been replied to!)0 -

The average figures you use might as well be from another planet, because they certainly don't represent the usages of the people in my neighbourhood! Some people must be !!!!ing money away in your world mate, but not in mine! I seem to rememeber I spend about 30% as much on energy as you. How can you lecture me on saving money exactly??? How does that work???
In a long list of silly posts you have made - that is right up there!
You raised the issue of 'poor folk up North' having to watch their pennies. In which case a saving of over £100 would be most important.
So don't use UW.0 -

What energy companies will be increasing VAT please?
Or what did you mean by that statement - that VAT rates are optional?0 -

Andy.
I notice on your facebook page you make a number of claims that you have saved people money.
"EG. BEST YET...A customer signed up and saving over £60 per month ;-) ***OVER £720 PER YEAR***
How exactly did you achieve this.0 -

I know this is slightly different from December rises but it goes some way to help customer find a good price.
If you and other distributors are suggesting that UW will have an edge because their not increasing vat and others are your misleading people.
The reduced rate of VAT on household energy bills remains unchanged at five per cent from Jan 2010 , and thats what UW and any other energy supplier will be required to charge on household energy bills.0 -

But no, we've been assured that all UW IDs go on training before they are allowed to profit from their punting.
I'd imagine that this includes basic things like working out a bill, and which bits of their portfolio are subject to VAT at which rate.
Any other UW ID care to explain how this could happen? Surely not a deliberate ploy to scare punters into switching to UW?0 -
awhimaging wrote: »As this was only a mention at the seminar and mentioned here prior to Jan it may well be something that doeasn't happen (hence not put through for training yet). Of course IDs are trained but I felt the info was worthy of putting up for your thoughts. And, rightly it has brought forth some healthy discussion.
But surely you can't choose how much VAT is - the government does that.
Whoever mentioned it at the seminar needs a basic lesson in finance.0
