However they have stated this in their email:"In the event that you cease to have Gold Status within 12 months
of the bill date on which you received the early termination fee
credit from us, then you will need to repay the full amount of the
early termination fee refund previously credited to your account;
this will appear as a debit charge on a subsequent monthly
invoice from us."
But the sales pitch they gave me is that there are no redemption type fees as we believe our customers will want to stay with us because they want to and not because they have to and are tied into a financial contract!
Yes they paid it for me to go to them but the service they provided for all of my services (mobile, internet & phone) have had numerous faults that cannot be rectified (which they have admitted)
Are the faults minor or major? Would they be seen as a fundamental breach of contract or a trivial one? This is important as a breach of contract does not necessarily invalidate the contract as a whole.
When did you sign with them, when did they start providing a service to you, when did you notify them that you wished to cancel said service?
I know you said you wouldnt bore us with the details but the devil is in the details. So please, bore away
How did you agree the contract with them (by email/phone/whatever)? Have you had anything sent you subsequently either by email (check junk folder) or by post? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
In a nutshell the faults are:
Gas & Electric - no faults
Mobile Phone - No signal in the house
Broadband - Very slow service & complete loss of service occasionally
Home Phone - Crackling quiet line
However there are lots of other factors with the way they have dealt with things and the continuous phone calls & engineer visits that I have had and other admin problems.
I was previously on Fibre Optic Broadband with Virgin and they sold me the internet on the basis it was a lot cheaper and that I would hardly notice any loss of speed or interruption with their broadband.
I would assume that the quality of the services would be breach of contract? Please correct me if Im wrong
I signed with them earlier this year. They provided the service a couple of weeks later. I notified them of cancellation this week.
The contract - this was done via a sales pitch from a friend that I knew and I trusted her that she wouldnt pull the wool over my eyes. However I believe that she believed in the services of UW as she has been with them for 3 years & was very happy.0 -
Didn't know UW did TV, are they reselling Talk talk TV, or is it just a typo?
If there is a line fault have they got BT OR out to sort it?
Care to post your router line statistics?
Don't know who's mobile service they resell is it T-Mobile?That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
No expert but sounds like you've got a dodgy filter to me.
They do indeed use T-Mobile/Orange/EE whatever it's now called. You did check the coverage in your area before ordering? Mrs MBS has the UW sim, I have talkmobile (voddy), we've been all over the UK this Summer and 9 times out of 10 her calls/mobile internet signal would be far far superior to mine.0 -

Is the utilities supplier part of your rental contract? If so, you may be lumbered. If not, I'd let them know that you are off to another supplier, give readings now and regularly for as long as it takes to get changed over. If you have not got the cash they are demanding, contact them, tell them and try to sort something out. I have previously overpaid for one of their services. It took a while to get the money back but I did get it.
It's an unfair contract term for a Landlord to stipulate the Tenant has to use a certain utility provider.
The tenant can use whichever Utility provider they want0 -

Apologies I meant home phone – now edited.
They have tested the line numerous times – no fault.
Not sure what router stats you need? The speed I am getting is 0.5mb
The mobile is Orange / T Mobile and it switches between the 2 depending which has the better signal so im told……………………………..MillicentBystander wrote: »No expert but sounds like you've got a dodgy filter to me.

I see. I have done speed & diagnostic tests and they were sent straight to UW so I assume they have all this information0 -
But WHAT were the results you obtained, i.e Speed, line attenuation, noise margin?
Attempting to understand your problem, still if you are happy with what is being done by your ISP carry on.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
