Oh dearWell I hope you sort your differences soon. My mum told me to never let the sun go down on an argument and I confess even if I think H is in the wrong I can't leave things simmering. Have a hug anyway
Lindy-loo - enjoy seeing your In Laws, hope you have a good time
Jet - Hugs to you. Sorry no inspiration for your garden - who did you ask for quotes for laying the slabs? Is there a one man band type bloke rather than say a company who might do it a little bit cheaper??
Well ended up with one mindee going home and had my Friday mindee for a couple of hours instead! As such I've only dusted the dining area, lounge and landing but it's better than nowt! Got to wake DD in a mo as we have a meeting at school about a trip in June so need to be at school for 3pm.
Ended up putting washing on the clothes horse as it kept looking like rain and we've not had a drop grrrr. Rang a local company for a quote for a roller blind with blackout material for DS's room. £126 :eek: I know he's got a large window but jeez that's a tad bit expensive! Will have nosey on the net and see what I can find cheaper. Don't want to spend a lot of cash (being a tightwad of course) in case it makes no difference to how long he sleeps.

Bitsy Argos do blackout roller blinds, maybe two would do you if it's that big? That's what we did in old house, and velcroed the meeting edged to the window frame to block out the chinks. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Bitsy, I was looking for blackout blinds a while ago, we had a big window too, as Jackie said Argos do really good value ones, I ended up getting mine in Ikea, very cheap but good quality.
I swear by blackout blinds when my dd was little it helped her sleep a bit longer, not that she ever really slept long anyway0 -
Afternoon all
My course was dull, and it was a different trainer who had no enthusiasm at allbut she did bring lots of things to play with like Playdoh (it aids learning you know!) so I spent most of the day making interesting shapes with it! :rotfl: We did however have another scrumptuous lunch, roasted veg, couscous, peas and potato wedges for me. And tiramasu for desert. I'm still full now! We finished early too which was great.
I'm going to veg on sofa with coffee and a book for a bit. Then wash up.

Hi Chums ,had a lovely visit from youngest DD with a smashing big pot of white Chrysanths in a pot for my conservatory, and a yummy toffee yougurty pud for me for after my dinner tonight, plus she brought in two rocky road chocolate muffins which we devoured with our coffee. We sat and jawed for ages about her Dad and what various places we would visit on holiday this year on the Isle of Wight .We spent so much time there when she was little as her Granny lived in Northwood where my OH was born, and his family were Islanders going back for as far as I can discover .Only 12 weeks this Friday till we go.
Eldest DD is coming tonight to see me. My two girls are the best legacy my OH left me when he died ,they have been so good, and I know he would be so proud of how they have coped over the past nearly 7 years, I know I am.
Well, I got all my washing done this morning, and dried on the line, so guess what I will be doing tomorrow morning, might even do some tonight after DD has been as it's got a lovely smell straight off the washing line.Pork chop and salad for dinner and my toffee pud for afters
I hope everyone had a good day
Thanks for all your good wishes
Cheers JackieO xx0 -

Hmmmm was it the REAL Playdoh? Not the same if it doesn't have that distinctive smell. I find playing with it oddly theraputic to play with (stress ball perhaps :rotfl:) but you know I HAVE to because of joining in with the kids
JackieG & Redruby & Hilstep - just going to check out Argos website in a sec. Sadly Ikea is out of the question - I refuse to go there at the weekend as it's a nightmare and I can't get over there during the week. My dad told me Tesco do them aswell so will have a nosey on their site tooI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Evening All
Had a lovely peaceful day just baking lots of different things
cheese straws, cheese and onion pasties, ginger Nuts, walnut layer cake, sponge drops, swiss roll and some bread.
Had the pasties with chips and baked beans tonight
I am a daft baggage I went to pay my phone bill and had left the ruddy thing on the tableOh well BT can wait especially because they charge me £4.50 to pay by cash  I have too many direct debits and I don't want anymore so they can go whistle
My friend is fuming he went to register the death and the stupid idiot at the registar's office put the wrong age on the death certificate  so the whole lot has to be sorted out again tomorrow. He is so upset it's bad enough losing your Mum let alone stupid pen pushers who can't get it right
Oh well I am off to watch panorama on i player it is about how the cuts could affect all of us - especially those who work for our councils (DH being one)

Oh that playdoh smell, how I loved it. Was great when the kids were given the real stuff as presents, I didn't want to let them use it, wanted to keep it all smelling nice and in its proper colours :rotfl:much nicer than the stuff I used to make which had a nasty way of fooling me, it stayed playdoh like for ages, then one day I would take it out of the fridge and it would be slime:eek:
Survived the weekend with an OH who was very tired after his long week and DSD who is stressed about her exams....wanted to go to a supercuts to get hair cut cos I am stressed about that! but I seemed to have come way down the list, didn't get out of out town so next weekend have made an appointment with myself to get on bus and do it for myself
Busy day at work today, manager away on hol, director should have been back but has been stuck in Ibiza due to the ash cloud, ops manager on paternity leave.....just left us workers to get on with things, and we did, as usual.
Rang to see if they had finally got my hip xray results today and was told need to speak to Dr, got appointment for Thurs, guess it will be 'wear and tear' think if it had been anything else someone would have been in touch before now.
OS today - wiped down kitchen cupboards before work, made a variation on WW chicken balti for tea tonight. Done all the usual DW and WM stuff.
(((huggs))) for those who need xxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
