Its cold, grey with a chance of rain today, and i'm sat here absolutely shattered. We went o Manchester for the weekend, so all four of us are wandering around like zombies. Just had a driving lesson, i did much better than last week, so its all good.

Sneaking in while boss is in a meeting. Blue skies this morning which seemed to be marred by some billowy grey clouds at the minute - volcanic perhapsor just old fashioned rain?!
Lunch is left over fajita wraps for me from last nights dinner and some lemon drizzle cake. I've fed the boss some twinks already - keep him sweet
Had a very enjoyable weekend - shame Monday has to spoil it really!

Morning all (just!
) Hope everyone is well.
Quiet day here, been in since 7am, so will hopefully slope off a bit earlier.
Lunch is cheese sandwiches and fruit for me today (I even managed to pack it myself - normally I'm dreadful for not taking lunch).
Dinner tonight will be something with corgettes and the rest of the chicken from yesterday - went to aldi yesterday and they are part of the veg/fruit deal atm, Picked up some oranges too, which is great as OH eats so much fruit and it's terribly pricy otherwise. Also picked up cold meat for OH and some other random bits.
I'm supposed to be having my hair cut tomorrow. I absolutley hate having my hair cut, but it looks frizzy so I have to bite the bullet and get on with it. Meh
OH is supposed to be flying to the Netherlands on Thursday - but we still don;t know if he will be able to go just yet.
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
So far today I've done 2 trips to the tip with a carload of garden rubbish each time, been food shopping and vacuumed out the car. Next door are having loads of work done and all I can hear is their masonry drill, I'd be outside doing more gardening but its started to rain - all over my washing on the line:mad:. I think I may need to go out and get some ear plugs as the noise is driving me nuts!
We're off to the library this afternoon to pick up more books for the boys. I'm not sure what we're having for tea yet, I need to write my meal plan out for this week. I've also started an online quilting class with Quiltuniversity.com, so I've some work to do for that. I've done one of their classes before, and it was really good. Only problem is I sorted out some fabric to use with this class and now can't find it!
HUGS to all that need them!0 -
Afternoon everyone! Popping on during lunch break. Weekend was brilliant. Light on the OS today, only really my usual contribution as I walk to work, and have to pop in for weekly shop on the way home. Must also remember to run into Boots before they shut and get more hayfever tablets, I've run out and it's not fun! Thinking of going to the doctor as the over-the-counter stuff isn't really working very well anymore, but don't want to do that until after my holidays in case they give me something that doesn't agree with me.
Am also in the huff with Next. I had to phone them up the other day when my statement came to get some alterations made, and they still aren't showing up on my account. I refuse to pay the full statement amount until said amendments are made, but I want to pay off the bloody bill now! Never really found them to be any trouble but now I think I'll give up on their website. It's too much of a faff, don't know why they insist on keeping it like that. So much easier when you just order and pay in one go!0 -
hiya everyone,
hope everyones okay, but if not then hope things improve.
My in laws are due to visit in an hour - I havent seen them for 2 years as FIL has MS and got so bad that he was very ill and didnt want the boys to see him like that. The boys talk to them on the phone and OH visits stoke (where they live) on his own. I'm really nervous but dont know why, there lovely (must better than other in laws)! FIL has had some stem cell work and is on a trial drug, still cant use legs but hasnt got any worse and can move fingers on one hand now. Boys are excited picking DS1 up at 2pm so they get time together. Lots of photos today.:j
Tesco have delived shopping but no nappies again:(
all downstairs hoovered, bathroom glistening! washing on line.
Take care today - my belly is doing somersaults! xxMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
Ok as requested,
basic recipe is :
chop 6 large red onions finely, fry off in sunflower oil but dont colour, until they are soft,
add 3 cups of vinegar ( i used a mixture of balsamic and bog standard)
add 3 cups of soft brown sugar
add 15 - 20 crushed black peppercorns.
Bring to the boil, and then simmer for 1 - 1- 1/2 hours, until all the liquid has evaporated.
I did a lot more onions than this though, and adjusted the rest of the ingredients xx
Thanks for the good wishes re dd, got her in the densist this morning, tooth fixed :T, then a mad dash to get her to school for the afternoon, her exam is at 2.45, fingers crossed x
Jackie enjoy the memories of Alan, I am sure he would have been very proud of you all xxx
Better get on, not done a thing what with all the running round0 -
Hi,
I've had a really lovely laid back morning. I spent an hour and a half in the sunshine in the garden this morning which was LOVELY!!! I "surfed", had a couple of cups of tea and put my thinking cap on about my garden - still not made any decisions though.
I wanted to get the garden half slabbed and then have a picket fence and gate to separate in to two sections. I inherited the slabs from a friend when she moved and got a couple of people out to give me a quote ...:eek::eek: .... however, I did find out from them that the existing small patio has been laid against the damp proof coursingand that my garden slopes down by about 6 inches from one side of the house to the other
I now have 160 slabs taking up a good part of the existing patio and don't know what to do at all. I foster rescue dogs and have 3 of my own so was planning on growing all fruit and veg in the bottom part of the garden so that they wouldn't get damaged by the dogs, and also when the dogs messed in the garden it would be on the patio which would make it easier to clean and I could just jet wash it down a couple of times a week to keep it clean. I really don't think it's poss now though because it's too big a job for me to do alone. As well as the problems I've already mentioned, there's a tarmac path that needs to be removed and a manhole that's raised above the level of where the patio would be too. Bit of a pickle.
Sorry for the moan guys but am a bit fed up with it and cross with myself for my lack of inspiration.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0
