Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Monday 17th May.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning.
CORNISH PIRATES ARE CHAMPIONS:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

First ever British and Irish cup winners Anyway way it was a great afternoon out, Pasties, beer and Cornish music and a famous victory over Munster... Glad I went :D

Bright and sunny this morning, I have work at 1300, so I shall finish making my poly house doors and lay the anti weed matting, and then go in. I might have to drop a few applications forms in for my OH as she applies for teaching jobs... sort of pointless as there are about 80 applicants for each post here. The (old) Government tells everyone to get in to teaching, but there are no jobs....
Not much else to report here, no money saving, although I did get my Bro in law to make some stainless fixings for my boat, so that saved a bundle.

Have a good day everyone, and thanks for all the Poly tunnel comments

    Morning N9eav & everyone else.

Glad you had a good one at the rugby :j

Monday again :( Today I shall be dropping DS off at school for his weeks residential trip with the school. He is really looking forward to it. Have been there before with DD so am ok but a load of the other mums seem to be getting very emotional, I must look like a real hard case :rotfl:but I know he will have fun and I will have a really peaceful week.

Other than that its normal officework, washing ironing and housework. The sun is shining at the moment but it did that for a while yesterday then everything went dark and we had heavy rain. OH did manage to tidy up a bit of the garden before, he will carry on today as doesn't have to go to work till tonight.

No idea what is for dinner, havn't meal planned yet

    Have a great Monday.x

    Hi everyone

Lovely and sunny here at the moment; just right for all the bedding plants I potted and tubbed yesterday. Renovation work continues apace here - I'm 'helping' with plasterboarding the vaulted ceiling in the dining room but, as we're going higher and higher, I'm not sure how much use I'll be - we may have to call in some outside help to finish it off.

OS-wise the BM and WM are on and some cubed pork is waiting while I decide what to do for dinner tonight. Don't have any inspiration at the moment - maybe make a paprika sauce to go with it.

I also have a ton of paperwork to get through so this morning will be busy.

Hope you all have a great day and that the weather is warming up in the UK as it is here.

    Morning everyone.

*WARNING* Got my grumpy trousers on this morning :o DS has been awake since 5am. Last couple of weeks it's been getting earlier and earlier :( Wouldn't mind so much if he went to bed earlier to compensate but he doesn't go to sleep, tend to have just an hour of mucking about.

Anyway I am sure a cup of coffee and crunchy not cornflakes will soothe my soul ;)

Not sure what's for dinner. Haven't really been sticking to the meal planner much :o I think we might have fish baked in cheesy sauce for me and the kids, H can have his plain.
Plans for today.....don't really have any. Head to Post Office on way to toddler group this morning, once kids have gone off to school it wil be a toss us between housework and a lie down :rotfl:Given I had a nap yesterday and didn't get all my housework done I think I need to make cleaning the priority.
Lovely sunny day here so far, not sure how warm though as not been outside yet.

Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.

    Edited to add:

Bargainbird - Happy Birthday to DD2 for yesterday and I hope you and your H have kissed and made up ;)

    Morning all,

Bright and beautiful day here :T, meant to be getting rain later though. I am hopefully going to take dd to the dentist this morning, she has lost a filling, and has been in pain all night, i hope they can fit her in this morning, as she has a french GCSE oral exam this afternoon, and I have to pay £25 if she doesn't go

Dinner toniught will be the pork chops we did not have yesterday, I went to put them in the sc and they were still frozen, so we ended up having an omlette and salad.

I made 11 jars of caramilized red onion relish yesterday for about £4 :T, Its delish :D it needs to mature for about a month, but should keep us going for a while.

Need to do a wash today and an online shop, the grass also needs doing, but dont know if i will get time, depends on the dentist.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all

Cloudy and overcast here, looks like it could become showery.

Monday morning again already where do the weekends go? Have been away this weekend the weather was glorious although wind a little chilly by the water. Had a lovely meal out on Saturday night with friends and a glass of vino or 3! We weren't too late back yesterday and I needed to feed us an evening meal, this is sometimes where I trip up and we end up ordering takeaway - but I'd got a cook from frozen chicken breast with sage and onion stuffing, so I popped that in the oven and did a pan of potatoes with it and made some salad, then for dessert it was either home made cookies or biscuits or an ice cream - saved myself £10 on the price of a takeaway - so am very pleased! Have meal planned for this week tonight we are having smoked sausage pasta, tomorrow night is an easy night because hubby has a meeting and won't be home until late, the boys and I will have jacket potatoes, lasagne from the freezer (HM that I froze when I made too much) and DS2 will have fish fingers with his jacket pot.

Have always done most of the washing from the weekend but now trying to get it all dry.

Hoping today isn't another mad Monday - we've had horrendously busy Mondays for about the last 6 weeks - we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Must go and get ready for work.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning all

It's lovely and sunny here, but I have to spend all day indoors on a course, boo! Well at least I get a free lunch from it!

Not much OS planned here - dishes need washing later and I need to decide on dinner, I'm thinking stirfry.

    Have a good day all

Bitsy, Both my boys are like this. My youngest has been up and around like a lark over the last few days (I'm NOT happy!!). So will have to drink loads of coffee and rely on whatever is in the freezer to see us through tonight. At least I managed to grab a quick shower today.

Went to Longleat in the showers yesterday - it is fantastic - had a great time. Even better as I used my tesco vouchers. Will defo be going back again this season. Sunny morning, WM on, DW emptied, bread in breadbin, just have to comb my hair and I'm ready for the school run. Visitors going today so I can get back into my own bed - Oh I can't wait! Also have some ladies coming round tonight so have got the dips in!! (well, leftovers from the weekend!) Youngest son has croup so he's off school today. Should walk dogs today and hopefully manage to get some me time - planning to use it sleeping!! Have a great day everyone x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

    Morning peeps

Busy weekend making the most of the weather when it was good.
Garden now looks so much better and plants all in their new homes - I have lots of salad stuff well on the grow so that will save some pennies in a few weeks :D

Had bad news yesterday - a friend's mum died she was only 64

Heavy rain this morning might have known, my knees were really giving me jip last night:(

Still grey and overcast at the moment but if the forecast is to be believed it will be getting warmer as the week goes on - AT LAST!

Nothing much planned for today - might get some batch baking done

Oh well got to make sure DS is ready for school and get DD up she has a temporary job as a technician at the college:)

Will catch up later take care all

(((((HUGS))))) to all especially Diva, Ladygrim, Penpin and NPM x
