Rude call centre staff

All 0870 numbers have a geographical number
and to assist those who have 1899 or packages that do not allow 0870 numbers, companies advertise numbers that can be rung from abroad, which give direct access
and by-pass the caller selection processTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -

Those who revert to useing rude quotes,to replace vocabulary are not worthy of a response. If assistance is required in respect to understanding complex sentences please do not hesitate to contact meTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -

I think the problem for sales staff is this: When on inbound sales (such as order lines etc), the agent is usually targeted on "conversion rates" i.e. how many sales per call. (as well as handling time etc...)
The problem with sites such as saynoto0870 (which as a consumer, I applaud) is that people call the WRONG number - more often than not the freefone 0800 number or geo equivalent simply to save money.
That's fine in as far as saving 8p per min or whatever, but I feel that the majority of punters don't realise that by going through to the wrong department, they are directly impacting on a persons income. Furthermore, as has already been mentioned, not every company has departments which talk to each other - so you end up getting nowhere by using what essentially is the WRONG number for the department you need to speak to.
Don't get me wrong, I despise the use of 0870 numbers, call centres and what they represent, but I do feel sorry for the folk who feel they need to work there. I know, i've been there myself.
In a perfect world, we would never have to call these numbers in the first place, and I do feel that as jobs go, you can't really go any lower than being a call centre agent. It's stressful, poorly paid, and you get treated like a child (if you are lucky).
Bravo to those who work in a call centre and disagree with my observations - you're doing something that I could not - but I think the sooner we see the back of them, the better the company/customer relationship will be.To be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -

And for someone who has made a point of critiscising other's grammatical errors, you've got a lot to work on.0

Saynoto0870.com is severely flawed, though, because anyone can stick a number on there. Used it to ring British Gas Sales yesterday, and had a lovely conversation with a pretty peed off secretary who ran a boiler firm.Comping wins this month: 2 x business class flights anywhere we like | Horse vitamins (!) | New kettle | Motorcycling prints | Signed LPs | Thanks to all!0

for it to be not worthy of a response you did a good job of not responding, twice.
your sentences aren't complex. They just don't make sense.
At the end of the day, as other people have backed me up on, saynoto0870 doesn't always give people the correct geographical number for the 0870 number. Most people will have a number for said company and put an entry on 0870.
That's probably why i quite often get my mobile ringing at home with people thinking it's Barclays. As i work in IT my landline diverts to my mobile and people are getting my landline number as a claims line. The claims line would be an 0800 or 0845 number.0 -
scheming_gypsy wrote:you talk absolute b*ll*cks. if you were a cat i'd have you put down. There's 1 fundimental flaw in your pointless idea. For call centre staff to be sales motivated they have to work in a sales environment and the majority of call centres aren't sales orientated. Sales people make OUTBOUND calls to get the sales and therefore get their commission.
