Only the bag, doesn't she want shoes as well? Maybe she'll wait to get the bag first & see what colour shoes she needs.

Lol, she probably will. Maybe that one wasn't approved, she probably met her 3 per month target.

Also got the Laptop one on again, must be the 3rd month running, she wants it to look for a job as she is using her sisters. No please or Thanks.

All I have ever asked for was a Large cardboard box, printer paper and some white car touch up paint, I only got 1 offer for a box.

Fair play I guess but keeping it out of land-fil?? ;)

Not an unusual request but why do people put 'for my disabled.....' it doesn't make them more needy than anyone else or lacking in money more than anyone else. I have nothing against disabled people, I know lots of disabled people as my husband used to work somewhere that specialised in recruiting disabled people, so I am not picking on them. I just want to know what some people think saying 'disabled' will do to their requests.

Here is an example from today

'hi has any one got a spare tumble dryer please for my disabled son and his partner thank you '

Why cant they just say 'son and his partner'?

This appeared on mine towards the end of 2008....it shocked me so much I kept it.
Today I have a couple of
"wants" some which are bigger than others and I would be extremely
    grateful if anyone can help.

    1. Since being out of work due to disability, I have decided that I'd
like to get back into an old hobby of float fishing but unfortunately
I no longer have any equipment (it seemed to get lost in the house
moves! lol) and at the moment we're not in a financial position to go
out and buy the things I need, so if anyone can help with any float
fishing equipment at all it would all be very much appreciated. This
is something that I may not be able to do as much as I'd like to due
to my mobility problems but is something which I enjoy nonetheless and
would hopefully motivate me to go out on my better days.

    2. PC bits and pieces - especially in need of case fans, memory,
motherboards, processors, pci cards, agp or pci graphics cards, power
supplies and cables, cpu heat sinks. Basically anything which is
needed for pc building as I'm looking to rebuild pc's then offer them
back to other Freecycle members. The only thing I will ask is that
they are compatible Windows XP onwards.

    3. We've been asked by our nieces to hold a Halloween party and are
looking for anything that we may be able to use to decorate the house
and garden... ideally Halloween silhouettes, black/dark sheeting or
netting and tissue papers in orange and black. Also any garden
Halloween decorations such as headstones, skeletons, etc. Any sound
effect cd's suitable for a childrens halloween party would also be great.

    4. Being disabledI spend most days stuck indoors and usually spend a
lot of time playing on my games console to pass the time when I am in
too much pain for pc building or other activities, or when I can't
sleep of a night but my Xbox has just packed up and I've been told
that it's beyond repair so it's gone in the skip, but I'd love another
one as I relied on this a lot to pass my days and without it am
finding myself falling further into depression. I would really
appreciate if anyone has an Xbox they no longer use that you may
consider me for... games are welcomed too, or just the console would
    be gratefully received.

    5. I'm also looking for a telescopic camera tripod as I've recently
been given a camera but due to my mobility problems I'm not stable
enough on my feet to get decent still shots so I'm hoping that someone
    can help.

    6. Due to my current disability I am finding that my mobility is
becoming worse and I am hoping to try to start cycling in an attempt
to increase the movement in my knees and hopefully increase my
mobility/reduce my pain. I have convinced my wife to join me in my
new cycling mission but we're not in a financial position to go out
and buy ourselves bikes so I'm desperately hoping that someone can
help us with a gents mountain bike with suspension to reduce the
impact on my knees. We could also do with a bike rack for the car.

    7. A 18 volt charger as mine as decided to stop working and with out
    it my saw is useless

    8. Any automotive wire ideally 0 gauge up to about 6 gauge so i can
continue rewiring a neighbours car and also a cone filter, and also
any car audio equipment ie subs, amps, equalizers, crossovers and a
radio cage would be great. And also a car battery to suit a volvo 2.3
t5 as mine is slowley dying.

    9. Lawn mower with a colllection box so i can try and mow our lawns

So, let me get this right. They are disabled but are currently rewiring a car (something you need to get into contortionist positions to do) they want to start mountain biking, they dont leave the house but want fishing rods, cant stand up so need a camera tripod but can mow the lawns?!

Lol thats a bit mad, dont want much do they? And not to forget they spend all day on their XBOX, which they want to replace because they can't get out much due to their mobility problems.

Maybe they just wanted free things to give to their family/friends as Christmas presents.
